My experience with Live Oak Periodontist has left me questioning whether the recommended treatment was necessary.
I had a deep cleaning at the end of July after being told I had a gum infection. At the time, I didn’t know I had acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The periodontist continued cleaning the other side of my mouth in early August.
When I returned a couple of days ago, they took X-rays, and he recommended opening my gums again to investigate what had gotten into them. I sought a second opinion yesterday. That periodontist also took X-rays and told me there was no gum infection.
Being given such different findings made me uncomfortable and left me feeling that money may have been a bigger priority than my care. I cannot speak to their intentions, but I expected a clear explanation of why another procedure was needed, especially while undergoing leukemia treatment. This experience has affected my trust in this practice.

I have been to quite a few doctor offices in my time, and this has to be one of THE most friendly, efficient, smart offices EVER. Staff, support staff, nurses etc and especially Dr. Aniemeke. HUGE smiles on everyone's faces. The kindness shown to me but especially my 94 year old mom. Truly amazing.

Dr. Aniemeke was amazing to work with. He was very personal, knowledgeable and took great care of me. His entire staff was super friendly and easy to talk to. Oral surgery can be very scary but this office was wonderful and I would absolutely go back to them if/when I need more dental work done.

Got a bone graft surgery done with Dr John last year and the X-rays came back showing the bone growth almost back to normal. He saved my tooth! Eternally grateful and just hope others can trust Dr John like I did since he’s an excellent dentist. Has incredible bedside manners as well, highly recommended!
The staff are all very professional and kind as well.
