This place is terrible. After taking the day off UNPAID, driving an HOUR to get there, and booking the appointment in JULY and waiting THREE MONTHS for an appointment, they realized after registration they didn’t get the insurance authorization! Are you freakin kidding me??!! I work at a medical facility. We don’t BOOK patients UNTIL we have authorization just to avoid having to turn them away. At best, authorizations take two weeks. You can even ask for a verbal authorization over the phone asking for a reference number to place in the patient’s chart until the full paperwork gets sent. I wish I would have called and gotten it myself, but I guess that’s what I get for assuming this place would do that. Lesson learned.
I’ll never go back here.

Very friendly staff from the front desk to staff in the operating room. We all joked around. Dr with was professional and nice. I would highly recommend.

This place was amazing, I got all four of my wisdom teeth out. I was so scared, but the nurses relaxed me and made me feel so much better. My surgery lasted 45 min and I was out the door feeling good. They gave me a regimen to follow for a week and I was up doing things again on day four.
I definitely recommend this place.

This place is absolutely wonderful and the staff is so lovely. From the front desk, to the surgeon (Dr. D) and everyone in between. Not once did I feel uncomfortable, ill-informed, rushed or mistreated. I really felt like they treated me as if I were family. Quick and easy. Boom bam thank you ma'am!

I had two wisdom teeth pulled and experienced little to no pain following the procedure. All of the doctors and staff were super friendly and helpful. Post care instructions were specific and easy to understand, and a visit I wasn’t necessarily looking forward to has been completely hassle free thanks to this office! Highly recommend!

About Marion Oral Surgery Specialists
Marion Oral Surgery Specialists is an oral and maxillofacial surgery practice at 1134 Independence Avenue in Marion, Ohio, serving patients from Marion and surrounding communities including Delaware, Upper Sandusky, Bucyrus, Prospect, Mansfield and Mt. Gilead. The practice was founded by two board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeons who set out to build a patient centered practice, tailoring treatment to each person's comfort and interacting with patients on a personal level. Dental implant surgery is a core part of what they do, including replacing single missing teeth, options for patients missing all of their upper or lower teeth, implant supported overdentures, and a same day approach the practice calls Teeth-in-an-Hour. The site also explains implant costs and aftercare for patients weighing their options.
Because implants need healthy jawbone, the practice offers bone grafting procedures such as ridge augmentation, sinus lifts, socket preservation and nerve repositioning, and it uses 3D imaging for planning. Other services include wisdom teeth removal, tooth extractions, exposure of impacted canines, oral pathology, and facial cosmetic treatments such as Botox and dermal fillers. The surgeons are trained in all levels of conscious sedation, intravenous sedation and general anesthesia for both adults and children, and patients are monitored continuously during and after surgery by certified surgical assistants and a registered nurse. The office was designed with patient comfort in mind and works closely with referring dentists.
Meet the Doctors
The practice is led by Dr. Andrew R. Mullendore, DDS, MD, and Dr. Douglas A. Von Kaenel, DDS, both board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Mullendore earned his dental degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 2003 and completed a six year dual degree oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where he also earned his medical degree. He holds both dental and medical licenses in Ohio. Dr. Von Kaenel, a Marion native, received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from The Ohio State University in 2002, completed a four year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, and served three years as an oral surgeon in the United States Navy before returning to Ohio. Both surgeons are trained in conscious sedation, intravenous sedation and general anesthesia.
