I highly recommend Maxillofacial Surgery Center of Huntsville! Dr Kamelchuk is a great surgeon and his staff are the best. They took great care of me. There was ZERO pain. The results were a blessing. And perhaps best of all, they worked diligently with my insurance to make sure everything was pre-approved, covered to the maximum, and there were no hidden charges.
I can tell you from experience that sloppy insurance work, apathetic attitudes and hidden charges can happen in this particular industry. A couple of years ago, another place cost me over $1000.00 more out of pocket for the exact same services with the exact same insurance! I knew better, but simply couldn't make them understand. "That's just how it is", they said.😖 I remembered it when faced with the same dental situation, and decided to give Dr. Kamelchuk and staff a try. Thankfully they were very conscientious and did their jobs well, and there were no problems this time around.

Had a great experience with Dr. Kamelchuk. Was able to get my appointment and procedure scheduled quick. Procedure went smooth and barely have any pain after having my wisdom teeth removed. Would recommend Dr. Kamelchuk to anyone!

Had my wisdom teeth removed here in March by Dr. Kamelchuk. The procedure was quick, but anything but painless. Staff gave me little to no time to recover from anesthesia before sending me home.
After my procedure I had trouble with several pieces of bone and tissue coming out of one of the holes the surgeon left in my mouth. He had told me this was normal for up to 6 weeks, but i’m still having problems 6 months later. The gaping hole left by Dr. Kamelchuk is still open and my dentist told me the surgery was botched and that i definitely should have been stitched up by my surgeon because the hole that was left behind is nearly impossible to clean out at home.
I also take a prescription for epilepsy daily and I declared this to Dr. Kamelchuk before my procedure. He proceeded to prescribe opiate painkillers for the recovery stage… painkillers that are known to cause a reaction when taken with my other medication. I was severely sick from these painkillers, so i did stop taking them, which made my recovery anything but smooth. I assume Dr. Kamelchuk prescribes mostly the same painkiller for every procedure he does, but he should’ve done research on the drug I take regularly to make sure an added prescription would be safe.
This procedure was overall painful and causes me EXPENSIVE issues to this day. If Dr. Kamelchuk had just taken a couple of extra minutes to stick up my HOLE, let me recover before sending me home, and write an appointment prescription for my case, i feel that this experience would have been a lot better.

This place is amazing. I had two wisdom teeth removed. If I’m not mistaken, the entire procedure took less than 30 minutes. I was really anxious beforehand because I had never been sedated, but I honestly don’t remember a thing. I was talking to them, and the next thing I knew, I woke up in a different room.
As far as recovery goes—no pain or swelling at all. Everything went smoothly from start to finish. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone!

Everyone in this office was so kind and helpful. Dr. Kamelchuk explained my problem in a way that I could understand and is very competent in surgery. He actually seemed to care about me and treat me with dignity.

Maxillofacial Surgery Center of Huntsville is an oral and maxillofacial surgery practice located at 1107 Gleneagles Drive Southwest in Huntsville, Alabama. The practice was established in 1997 by Dr. Lee Kamelchuk, and its stated philosophy is to provide patients with the best surgical care possible in a modern facility with an atmosphere of kindness and courtesy. Dental implants are a core focus. The practice describes implants as a foundation for replacement teeth that look, feel, and function like natural teeth, helping patients who have lost teeth regain the ability to eat comfortably and smile with confidence while preserving facial contours.

Meet the Doctors
Maxillofacial Surgery Center of Huntsville is led by Dr. Lee Kamelchuk, DDS, MD, who founded the practice in 1997 and practices the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery. Dr. Kamelchuk grew up in Alberta, Canada, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering in 1986 and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1990 from the University of Alberta. He completed a hospital dentistry general practice residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1991, then earned his Doctor of Medicine degree and completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at UAB in 1997. Dr. Kamelchuk is board certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and is an active staff member at Crestwood Medical Center in Huntsville.
