I was looking for a dentist with an independent practice because I wanted a more personal, one-on-one experience—not to feel like just another number at a large corporation. After researching Dr. Michael Nugent and reading his reviews, I decided to give him a try, and I’m so glad I did.
At my previous dentist, Fresh Dental, I felt like a dollar sign. I was told I had more than six cavities and needed extensive treatment and a deep cleaning. Dr. Nugent was completely different. Since I didn’t have dental insurance, his office recommended that I get my previous X-rays so I wouldn’t have to pay for new ones. They still thoroughly examined me, and Dr. Nugent explained that I did not have cavities and did not need all the treatment I had previously been told I needed.
I truly appreciate his honesty and professionalism. I highly recommend Dr. Nugent to anyone looking for a caring, honest dentist who treats patients like people—not dollar signs!

This office is amazing all around! From the moment you walk in, the front desk team is welcoming, attentive, and makes you feel taken care of from start to finish. The dental assistants, hygienists, and Dr. Nugent are equally wonderful—kind, professional, and always focused on your comfort.
Everyone truly makes you feel right at home, creating a warm and positive experience every visit. Dr. Nugent and his entire team have created a space that feels both safe and uplifting. I highly recommend this office to anyone looking for exceptional dental care!

I had an appointment with the very best Dentist today, Dr Michael Nugent. I was most excellently taken care of. He's not in my Kelsey Seybold insurance plan, but I wouldn't go to anyone else.
They even took care of getting my new debit card activated when I hadn't been able to do it. Thank you so much for that. I had worked so hard on that and hadn't been able to get it activated. I had other cards with me and didn't need it to pay for them today, but I'm thankful it's taken care of.
My work today wasn't a simple procedure. I'm very Glad Dr Nugent is so knowledgeable and skilled. I'm sure he's qualified to do any kind of dental work.

Getting Xrays is nothing. And you don't have to put on those heavy protective pads because there's virtually no longer any radiation danger in their office.
There's just not enough words to describe how wonderful that office and staff are.
My husband and I traveled for 23 years in our motor home. all over the US, Canada, and Mexico. Dr Nugent is the BEST.

Spectacular experience with Dr Nugent. He took the time to make sure I understood everything about my situation and what the plan of action would be. Pain management is important to him and the quality of work is first rate. The facility is immaculate and state of the art. Thank you !

Doctor Michael Nugent and his staff were Absolutely Amazing!!!! The entire staff I had the pleasure of interacting with were polite and personable. Dr Nugent was very funny and compassionate. He did a marvelous job making me feel comfortable. I really feel like I found the needle in the hay stack when it comes to dentistry work.

Dr. Michael Nugent, DDS, is the dentist and owner of the practice. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Texas Tech University and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston, graduating in 2005. The practice's website says he takes hundreds of hours of continuing education each year. Dr. Steve Ragsdale, DDS, completed his undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University and his Doctor of Dental Surgery at UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry, followed by an advanced residency in 2017 focused on surgical and intravenous sedation skills. He holds anesthesia permits from the State of Texas for intravenous sedation, administers sedation while Dr. Nugent performs dentistry, and also performs wisdom tooth extractions under intravenous sedation. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and American Dental Society of Anesthesiology.
