I have a major phobia about seeing the dentist. It's been over 9 years. Not only was the receptionists polite, Dr Durnell and the tech that was assisting him we're both very understanding and sympathetic to my needs! They recommended me to an affiliate dental facility and I am very confident that I will receive the same treatment that I got at Michiana smiles! Thank you very very much!!

Dr. Durnell and his team are fantastic! They have treated me with great care and I can always count on them to meet my need even on urgent matters. They have done well communicating with my periodontist of my unique situation and I can鈥檛 wait for my results! They are giving me my smile back.

Love Michiana Smiles! Brianna was very nice and made me feel at easy. I hate going to the dentist. Dr. VanDeVoorde is really nice and they both took time to explain anything going on. The staff there is great! Absolutely love them and would recommend to anyone

Once in the office, the hygienist (Britney) was wonderful. She took the time to explain and demonstrate what I needed to do between visits. She will be my hygienist from now moving forward, no rotating or random assignment. Love that personal touch. Dr. Durnell was friendly and made me feel like I had known him for years. Knowledgable in what was going on with my mouth.馃榿

Used this office for a very long time (when it was the only one and simply Dr. Mader's). Twice work here has failed recently. My wife had a Cerec filling done in July 2024 that fell off shortly after and had to be redone. I had a crown done in June 2024 that fell off in March 2025. Unfortunately I was living about 3 hours away at the time. The "new" dentist the fixed it said it "did not fit properly" and he would not even try to reuse/re-glue it. Unfortunately I was living about 3 hours away at the time. I found out after the work had been done that the insurance provider would only cover a crown once every 5 years on the same tooth. So now I have a big bill. Since I was not able to have Michiana Smiles evaluate this (I lived out of the area) there is nothign they are able or willing to do. Same dentist for both issues. I will say the timeliniess of figuring out the insurance would not cover was almost a year, so I can't blame Michiana Smiles for that. But never had issues before and all of a sudden, new dentist and two issues in the same time frame. Now living back in the area and will not be using them again. I would have thought they could at least meet me 1/2 way given the history. This is the South Bend location. I will also be following up with the other dentist to find out why this wasn't preapproved and why it took so long to figure out.
