I had a great experience at Mountain View Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. DeSantis is an amazing and highly skilled surgeon who made me feel very comfortable going into my procedure. My wisdom tooth surgery and recovery both went smoothly.
The entire staff was kind, professional, and very attentive. They took the time to answer all my questions and made me feel at ease throughout the process. I’m really grateful for the care I received and would definitely recommend Dr. DeSantis and his team to anyone needing oral surgery.

Had 2 wisdom teeth removed today, one of which was a little complicated, but Dr. Desantis was excellent! Totally pain free, staff were very kind! As someone who has some dental anxiety, this was a wonderful experience! Would recommend to everyone!

Dr Desantis is a class act! He is Professional and compassionate. Our 6 year old son had to have 2 baby teeth removed due to infection. He squeezed us in on a very busy Friday to make sure our son received the proper care prior to the weekend. Julie was beyond helpful and even called to make sure our son was doing okay as the day went on. We can’t say enough kind words about your practice and are grateful for your services.

Not usually one to leave reviews but I’m very pleased with the wisdom teeth removal surgery I recently had here. It was a very quick and easy surgery & everyone was so kind & confident - it was comforting. Fortunately, I also had a very quick and easy recovery!

Dr. Desantis and his staff are wonderful in every way! They are friendly and kind. Dr. Desantis took time to listen to all my concerns. My procedure was absolutely painless. His dental assistant was wonderful and patient with me. Office staff are very nice as well. Overall I had a problem free experience. I highly recommend this practice!!

Mountain View Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, PC is an oral surgery practice at 535 Columbia Drive in Johnson City, New York, serving the Greater Binghamton area and the Southern Tier. The office practices the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including dental implants, bone grafting, wisdom tooth removal, extractions, exposure of impacted teeth, facial trauma repair, corrective jaw surgery, and treatment of cleft lip and palate. Dental implant care ranges from single tooth replacement to multiple tooth replacement and prosthetic attachments that can stabilize removable dentures for patients whose jawbone has resorbed. The practice describes its implant case history as numbering in the thousands of fixtures placed, spanning routine tooth replacement through reconstruction after cancer or trauma.

Meet the Doctors
The practice is led by James L. DeSantis, DDS, MD, a specialist in oral and maxillofacial surgery who was born in the area and grew up in Owego. Dr. DeSantis earned a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Science from Cornell University, then received both his Doctor of Dental Surgery and Doctor of Medicine degrees from the State University of New York at Buffalo, completing his oral surgery residency through the SUNY Buffalo Medical/Dental Consortium after a general surgical internship. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Association, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the New York State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and he is on staff at Wilson Memorial Regional Trauma Center/UHS Hospitals, where he has served as Chairman and Director of the Department of Dentistry. Dr. DeSantis has a special interest in facial trauma, dental implant placement, bone reconstruction, and wisdom tooth surgery.
