Mynsberge, Ruggles & Yang Oral Surgery

I have always been TERRIFIED of getting my wisdom teeth removed and lived with an annoying impacted wisdom tooth for years because of that fear. Of course, on a Friday night, it started hurting badly and I knew it was finally time. My dentist was closed until Tuesday and I had no idea what to do. I found Dr. Ruggles’ office and they were able to get me in that Monday. From the moment I walked in, the entire staff made the process feel calm and not scary at all. They were incredibly kind, reassuring, and efficient, and even scheduled my surgery for 7am the very next day. The entire process was unbelievably smooth. I truly believe Dr. Ruggles worked a miracle — I had zero swelling and zero pain after surgery. I actually checked to make sure they had really pulled a tooth because it felt like nothing even happened. It honestly felt like magic. If you are anxious, scared, or putting off wisdom tooth removal like I was, I cannot recommend Dr. Ruggles and his team enough. Absolute best experience I could have imagined!!!

Everything about this office and the doctors is top notch. Cannot recommend highly enough. Courteous, helpful team answering the phones and scheduling. They were so kind in providing care on short notice and answering questions—lovely front desk personnel. Dr Yang is the best dental professional/oral doctor I have encountered in my 25+ years in Marin. He is impressively knowledgeable, and his demeanor with patients is both personable and collaborative. My daughter and I thought he was enormously helpful in advising on some tricky decisions around extraction, and I found him incredibly human and professional in his counsel. I cannot say enough good things about the time he spent with us and his approach to working with patients. Thank you, Dr Yang!

While I rarely write reviews, I felt this one is necessary and it really is a split review. First the actual work by Dr Mynsberge was fine and I thought that was well done. My problem was with their billing. I have dental insurance, Medicare, and a secondary medical insurance policy. Their billing department checked my dental insurance and said I would be covered. They did add an extra sentence of something like "while we think you are covered you may not be and, in that case, you will need to pay." So, I went ahead and had the work done. They billed the insurance, and the insurance denied the claim saying the particular procedure code was not a covered benefit. I received a bill for more than $500. It turned out their billing office had only checked the general coverage of my dental insurance, if they had gone a step further and checked the planned procedure code, they would have seen there was not coverage. If they had done that or at least told me the procedure code and that I needed to check I would have known in advance the procedure would not be covered. At the end of all this I talked to my medical insurance, and it turns out if I had seen someone in network then this would have been covered, however these Drs were not in network so there would be no coverage. So, the moral is if the procedure is just a bit unusual you may want to get the procedure code they are planning and check with your insurance yourself to avoid any unwelcome billing surprises.

I've had several visits here over the past 4 years and I have to say they are the best! Dr. Mynsberge has worked on me several times and this time I had Dr. Ruggles. They are both top notch. No pain except the numbing injections, but even that is done gently and they never rush you. They always make sure you arr comfortable and they always calmly tell you what is happening next. I've had extractions, bone grafts, and implants done and I couldn't be happier. The office staff is great as well. THANK YOU!

My husband had a broken molar removed by Dr. Yang who was competent and friendly. He provided clear information about alternative procedures and supported our decisions. Office and support personnel also were excellent. The location has easily accessed parking.
