Dr Yu and staff are friendly and professional. I checked around and received several estimates before going with Naia. Some doctors recommended more invasive treatment for my implant including filing my existing tooth and one charged me just for asking for an estimate! They sat me in a chair and took a few images to determine and charged me for the visit and the images.
For a few hundred dollars more than my lowest estimate, maybe not even $200, Naia Dentistry offered better care, better quality, and a more enjoyable environment than the competitors.
Dr Yu is extremely knowledgeable, focused on care, friendly, and precise like a laser… or an engineer.
Think of this place as a kind of spa for the teeth.

Prompted by other reviewers suggesting “unpredictable” or “aggressive” behavior, I have attached a dismissal letter from Dr. Yu. After six years in the practice and shortly after an unexpected intake exam (we had requested only bite-wing x-rays), Dr. Yu deemed my wife and me a poor “fit” for his practice. He had submitted a total of $1119 in claims to both UHC and us for a dozen routine intake procedures, and just two days later he emailed us his dismissal. As he himself had never treated us for anything and we had never argued with him or his staff, we were left unsure of what triggered his dismissal. Only Dr. Yu can possibly explain his “final decision.”
Six months after our intake exams, one of our central incisors snapped off at the gum. Without a dentist in SLO area, we sought a consultation from Aspen Dental. Dr. Barrientos took one precise x-ray, diagnosed an abscess, called in an Rx, shared findings with our Bay Area dentist, and billed exactly $0.
A week later Dr. Hong deftly performed root-canal therapy and saved the tooth. Both dentists deserved and received heartfelt 5-star reviews.
Sincerely, Gordon

I would not recommend trusting this place with your health. You cannot even trust their reviews. The positive reviews are either 1. Years-old reviews from before their rebrand; when this company had a different name, location, doctors, and staff, or 2. The reviews are completely fake. They don’t hide it well either: A recent review is written by an office staff member and includes their name at the top of the review. Do they think nobody knows their name? If you’re gonna lie to potential patients, be sneakier next time.
A slice of truth amidst the lies: I have received nothing but poor advice and half rate care. The doctor is strangely aggressive and the hygienists are phoning it in. They don’t have proper knowledge or training on what they are doing. I have received incorrect advice that would have caused me a lot of damage if I had not gotten a second opinion.
Sift through the rest of the reviews and you’ll find plenty of real people agreeing with these sentiments and sharing personal stories. All in all, this place poses a danger to your health. There are so many dentists in San Luis, so there’s no reason to settle for this one. Run!!

I had trauma from my childhood dentist but still stayed up to date with my oral health care. Dr. Yu did some crown work on me and I just have to gloat that this was the first time EVER that I had absolutely no pain with the injection, the prepping or afterwards!!! Jessica cemented my crown with no anesthetic needed!! It was completely pain free as well!! The whole office is a delight and I tell everyone I know to come to this office!! Thanks Naia Dentistry and Implant Solutions!!!!!

I hope their practices have changed since they went from SLO Peak Dentistry to their current practice name. They put two crowns in about 5 years ago and one of them has broken now. I never had a crown before so I thought their method of forcefully jamming one onto my tooth was normal. The man who placed the crown in my mouth was not a dentist, I am not sure what title he held or why he was putting crowns on. The tooth suffered trauma and the crown never fit correctly, and I would go in several times for adjustments. The last time I went for an adjustment was during covid. The dentist belittled and scolded me for coming in for something so "trivial", but I couldn't chew and it caused me pain. It wasn't until I changed dentists did I realize how unprofessional their practices were. My new dentist had to continue reshaping that same troubled crown until after a year or two the tooth trauma finally healed and I could chew on that side again. I have had new crowns put on since then and I have never experienced anything like at SLO Peak Dentistry, feeling like my mouth had been violated. Five years later I have a broken crown and they can't do anything about it because I did not continue in their care. Also, back then their set up was like a factory line dentistry and the hygienists tried to sell you products, that is never a good sign.
