It's always wonderful! I just love Brandy! The dentist was great and assuring! They assistant even asked what music i like to calm my nerves and played it for me (India Aire) ! I love this place. !! My third time getting service here, and besides that one big lady who I haven't seen since the second time the over all experience is one of the best I've have in life!! I do recommend this place for ur dental needs ❣️

The clinic staff are always competent and compassionate professionals. We are lucky to live close to location. I'm thankful for the great care each time and the affordable rates. I have been seen at the clinic since it opened and am grateful for the much needed dental outreach it provides to me and the community.

I wanted to share my experience for anyone considering coming here for an extraction. I first came in on a Tuesday, arrived 30 minutes early, and was the 5th person in line. I was told to come back Thursday morning because they usually don’t have the specialist for wisdom tooth extractions on Tuesdays. Just a heads up — Tuesdays are limited (they only take about 6 people), and the chances of getting a wisdom tooth removed that day are very slim. I came back Thursday morning and made sure to get in line early — this part is VERY important. Thursdays are walk-in, but you HAVE to be in line early or you may not be seen. They write your name down and take patients one by one, and once they reach capacity, that’s it. Even though I ended up being second to last, they still saw me and didn’t turn me away, which I really appreciated. The staff was very kind and professional. They communicate clearly, and as long as you’re respectful and understanding of the process, you won’t have any issues. The doctor was great — they explained that my wisdom tooth was close to a nerve, went over the possible risks, and made sure I was comfortable proceeding. I appreciated that transparency. The wait was honestly the hardest part, but the care I received made it worth it. Wisdom tooth extractions are $125, which is very affordable. I’m currently on day one after my extraction and doing great so far. Overall, I would definitely recommend — just come early, be patient, and trust the process!

About North Charleston Dental Outreach

North Charleston Dental Outreach is a faith-based charity dental clinic in North Charleston, South Carolina, that has served the Chicora-Cherokee community for over 20 years. The practice was established after the closure of the Charleston Naval Shipyard to provide dental treatment for people whose options for care are limited by financial hardship or lack of insurance. Today the clinic operates from a modern, six treatment-room facility that opened in the fall of 2022, offering preventive, restorative, and extraction services, with treatment starting at $65 per tooth.

The clinic is staffed by a small team along with dental and hygiene students from the Medical University of South Carolina and Trident Technical College, who are mentored by supervising faculty as they provide care. Patients are welcomed regardless of insurance status, with the large majority of those served in recent years being uninsured. The clinic's services focus on general dental care, including fillings, extractions, root canals, and cleanings, based on an individualized treatment plan created after a new patient exam.

Meet the Doctors

The practice's clinical team is led by Dr. Watson, DMD, who serves as Dental Director. He is joined by hygienists, dental assistants, and MUSC and Trident Technical College students who provide care under faculty supervision.
