Hands down best Dentist in the state. It took a few mos to get in, but worth the wait. Nobody is taking new patients on the range. I Drove 2½ hours for my visit(s). I seen Dr Erickson for my inital exam. He told me 4 teeth needed work. So we went to work. First Misty RDH Cleaned my teeth which hadnt been done since 2020. She cleaned them up quickly. I asked if they could do some of the work same day, so they made some room for me later the same day. Dr Siddiqui w/Tatum repaired my tooth with crack & missing filling. I have never had a dentist visit that went so smoothly. They were awesome. Didnt experience any discomfort Zero pain! They found opening for me 2 days later on Friday. This time I seen Dr Templin w/Sage. This is the "All-Star team" of dentist. Dr Tatum repaired my cracked front tooth, & fixed 2 cavaties in less than hour. Took longer for me to drive here. Which leads me to the next perk. They gave me a 20$ gas card to help with travel expenses. I will never go to different dentist office again. Northern Dental took such great care of me, even all the little kids were smiling when they left here. Great team work guys, and thank all women at front desk for squeezing me back in.

They replaced a filling 3 times, since it kept coming out. Then the last time they did it. They put a filling over a cavity, So when it started hurting I asked to come in and they said I would have to sit and wait. Not actually have appointment , since they are 8 months out. So I had a call around to other dentists and figure out what was going on with my tooth. I finally got into a different dentist and they said I either had to have my tooth pulled or a root canal because it got so bad. They never answer thier phones either. I wouldn't recommend this place

Disappointed — Still Using Mercury Fillings in the 21st Century! I am deeply disappointed with Northern Dental Access Center for still using mercury (amalgam) fillings. My son received multiple mercury fillings there, and it has not only impacted the appearance of his smile but also his overall health and well-being. At a time when tooth-colored composite (white) fillings are widely available, cost about the same, and are far safer and more aesthetically natural, there is no reason any dental provider should still be using mercury-based materials. These fillings are outdated, unattractive, and can contribute to long-term health concerns that are completely avoidable with modern alternatives. It’s incredibly frustrating as a parent to see a trusted dental center fail to prioritize patient safety and informed choice. Every dentist in this day and age should be offering — and recommending — white composite fillings as the standard of care. Until Northern Dental Access Center modernizes its practices and commits to patient-centered, mercury-free dentistry, I cannot recommend this clinic to anyone who values their health or the health of their loved ones.

My family has always been treated extremely kind. Everyone is very thorough, which is important when it involves my children. We also love the timely manner of getting my entire family in and out! The only downfall is how far appointments book out. It is hard to get in for an appointment.

About Northern Dental Access Center

Northern Dental Access Center is a nonprofit, community access dental clinic in Bemidji, Minnesota, part of a network of four clinic locations serving people in need across northwestern Minnesota. The clinic accepts Minnesota Health Care Programs such as Medical Assistance and MinnesotaCare, some private dental insurance, and offers a self-pay program with income-based discounts. Its mission is to provide dental care regardless of a patient's insurance status, race, disability, religion, or other background.

The services described on the practice's website include exams and cleanings, fillings, extractions, root canals, and dentures for eligible patients, along with referrals for advanced care needs. The website text does not describe dental implant procedures such as All-on-4 or full-arch treatment being performed in house, so patients interested in implants should call the clinic directly to ask whether that care is provided on site or through referral.

About the Care Team

Northern Dental Access Center relies on a mix of full time employed dentists and part time, independent contractor dentists who rotate through its clinic locations, alongside dental hygienists, dental assistants, and an advanced dental therapist who work together to manage patient care. Dental assistants act as patient advocates during procedures, hygienists complete exams and preventive care, and site managers oversee daily clinic operations. The clinical team is supported by patient schedulers, some of whom hold Community Health Worker certification, to help patients navigate care and overcome barriers to treatment.
