Now that I have had my work corrected by another dentist, I can confidently say the work I received here was subpar at best. I got multiple implants. The surgery itself was horrible. I was not sedated towards the end of the surgery. I had walked to get X-rays/scans, and Shanks wanted to do further adjustments to an implant. He worked to manipulate an implant. I was crying and telling him it hurt. He continued the adjustment with no meds. I had nightmares about this for months after my surgery. I got anxiety any time I had to go back for a visit. Shanks raised his voice at me during a visit, while I was crying. He is not a profession by any means. I opted to find a new dentist to complete my work. Once I did, it was clear how poor Shanks work was and how poorly I was treated. I now have the smile I was aiming to get, due to finding a better dentist. Be careful if you choose to have surgery with Shanks. My phone camera was left on as I was sedated and what it captured is being sent to the Board for review. No one should be treated with disrespect or jokes during a medical procedure.

This place was a God-send, in the most literal way. My wife and I were in the midst of a 26-hour road trip when my tooth began aching in a horrible fashion 9 hours from home. We picked a random hotel to stay at the night before because I just couldn’t be in the car anymore with the pain level I was experiencing. At 6:30 in the morning we showed up on their porch and the staff not only let us in, and worked us into their scheduled right away, but they were so kind to my wife & I in our exhausted and overwhelmed situation. I left with relief from my pain and so much gratitude in my heart. My wife asked many questions on my behalf as we weighed our options regarding how to handle this tooth situation, and the hygienist was so thorough & patient in her answers. If I lived in the area, I would be back!! You can tell when a man has integrity and I felt that from Dr. Shanks. Thank you to all of the staff for the way you truly cared for my wife and I, and my dental emergency, yesterday. We made it home safely to NC late last night and we want you all to know that you’re so appreciated! From Hayley, at the front desk so kindly welcoming my wife (who was in tears just wanting to find me help) to the hygienist and the Dr, all around wonderful experience!! Thank you a million times over! God bless!

I had a fantastic experience at Northside Family Dentistry! From the moment I walked in, the staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and professional. They made me feel completely at ease. What really stood out to me was how flexible they were with appointment times. My schedule can be a bit unpredictable, but they worked with me to find a time that fit perfectly without any hassle. If you’re looking for a dentist who combines excellent service, flexible scheduling, and a genuinely kind team, I highly recommend Northside Family Dentistry!

Told my husband he had to have his teeth deep cleaned before he could get some fillings. $2500 they didn't clean his teeth and I can't afford the fillings. They scammed us

Dr Shanks is the ultimate professional…his work is outstanding, his manner is laid back and easygoing, his staff is exceptional and they really try to accommodate you in any possible way. They treat you like family. I highly recommend him.
