Great experience. If you have to see an oral surgeon, Dr. Heggland is your man. He has great bedside manner and relates with his patience. Experienced and knowledable and knows how to relate that to his patiences. You can trust him implicitly.

Dr. Heggland and his team are amazing. From the moment I walked in, the office staff was kind and welcoming. Dr. Heggland is very professional and nice, and get this, I had ZERO pain during the (3) Wisdom Teeth extraction and ZERO pain the following days while healing. They say a painless recovery means you have an elite surgeon. Thank you so much!

Northwest OMS office and staff has been so very kind and helpful to me. I am so glad I found this office. Dr. Heggland and his surgical assistant Maleia made me feel so comfortable and well cared for. Dr. Heggland was very thorough in explaining my emergency procedure that was preformed. I will definitely be back for their professional help.

Northwest OMS is an oral and maxillofacial surgery practice with offices in Frisco and Edwards, Colorado. The Frisco office is located at 975 North Ten Mile Drive, Suite E-11, and the practice serves Summit County along with surrounding mountain communities including Breckenridge, Vail, Edwards, Gypsum, Steamboat Springs, and Eagle, Routt, Park, and Lake Counties. The practice performs a full range of dental implant and bone grafting procedures, and also offers a Teeth-In-A-Day approach in which fully functioning teeth on dental implants can be completed in one day, using CT scan guided treatment planning and close collaboration with the patient's restorative dentist.
Beyond implants, the practice provides the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including wisdom tooth removal, corrective jaw surgery, treatment of facial fractures and injuries, oral pathology, exposure of impacted canines, pre-prosthetic surgery, and platelet rich plasma and growth factor therapies, along with help for patients with facial pain and jaw joint disorders. Surgery and outpatient anesthesia are performed in the practice's office-based surgery centers, where staff maintain certifications in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. Northwest OMS is led by Dr. Karl Lewis Hickey Heggland, DDS, a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon who the practice describes as Summit County's only full-time, local board certified oral surgeon. Dr. Heggland earned his dental degree with honors from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry after completing his Bachelor of Science at the University of Notre Dame, then spent seven additional years training in surgery and anesthesia at VA medical centers, children's hospitals, and university medical centers in Denver, Cincinnati, Dayton, and Knoxville. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Colorado Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and has served as Chief of Surgery at St. Anthony Summit Medical Center.
