I looked all over the Vancouver, WA and Portland, OR area and couldn't find any skilled/reasonably competent practitioners. They all used outdated and poor quality equipment. I was assigned this place randomly by insurance provider. They are polite, skilled, honest, have modern equipment, & when I was referred to a surgeon he was the most knowledgeable USA Dr. I have ever met. I was planning on going to a civilized country to get work done but I'm happy with this service.

Oakes Family Dental is amazing! Prompt and professional experience. Staff is very friendly! I have been to many dental offices around town and this one definitely stands out! Dr. Oakes does high quality work for sure. Highly recommend:) Thanks Oakes Family Dental!

I had an appointment to do detailed teeth cleaning because of not flossing as often as I needed. Procedure was painless and I’m glad it’s done now. Will definitely take care of my teeth much better. Thank you, Oakes dentistry.

To begin, I have been bringing my child here for about one year. And at first everything was fine ,until about a day ago when I had a cleaning for my child. After the cleaning was done ,the dentist failed to notify me of what the treatment plan was .
Moreover, the receptionist FAILED to open the patient's chart, resulting in me not scheduling an appointment for my child who needs a filling.When asked ,the receptionist said " she forgot to open the file." To add, the receptionist also stated " the dentist won't numb certain teeth for surface fillings!" I have never heard of a dentist NOT numbing a tooth anytime there was dental work being performed. During my call with the receptionist, I kept asking as to why and she then hung up on me . This act was very unprofessional and I will be looking for a new dental practice for my child. To where people actually care about their patients.

Dr. Oakes and his team are first class. Explains every detail, makes sure the procedure is pain free. Highly recommend their services. Follow up was excellent also.

Oakes Family Dentistry is a family owned dental practice located at 1111 East Reserve Street in Vancouver, Washington, serving patients throughout the Vancouver area and the greater Pacific Northwest. The office focuses on general, family, and cosmetic dentistry in a family friendly environment, with services that include dental exams and cleanings, dental crowns, dental fillings, and root canal treatment. The practice is led by Dr. Michael Oakes, who earned his doctorate in dentistry from Oregon Health and Sciences University and built his practice in Vancouver in the late 1990s, where he has been treating patients ever since. The office is open Monday through Wednesday from 8 in the morning to 5 in the evening, Thursday from 9 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon, and Fridays by appointment only. Meet the Doctors
Dr. Michael Oakes, DMD, is the dentist at Oakes Family Dentistry. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Oregon in 1993 and later graduated from Oregon Health and Sciences University with a doctorate in dentistry. A longtime lover of the Pacific Northwest, he built his practice in Vancouver, Washington in the late 1990s and has been practicing there ever since, and he regularly attends continuing education classes.
