Dr Ryan is the best. Every time I visit he takes time with his staff to educate me, calm my nerves and ensures I’m comfortable with the work they are doing on my teeth. I have had a history with other less than ideal dentists who have not solved my teeth problems and have actually made it worse. Dr Ryan has taken the time to help and he is always so kind and patient. I recommend him to anyone I know.

Shirley and I have had the privilege of being patients of Dr. Ryan Oetken since he started his practice in Dubuque. He is always determined and meticulous in providing us the best care. Not only does Ryan do great dental work he also has our best interest in mind for long term dental health. His staff are all at the top of their game as well. Always a pleasant experience.

Dr Ryan and his team is amazing my whole experience there has been absolutely life-changing!! My teeth feel great they don’t hurt during or after cleaning. I just had a procedure done yesterday and you wouldn’t even know that I had anything done. There was no pain during or after. If you want a gentle understanding, compassionate dental team this is the place to go! ❤️

Dr Joe and his staff are amazing! Everyone is friendly, knowledgeable and they treat you very well! I’ve been going to this office my entire life. Dr Joe carries on his dad’s practice with the same professionalism and care that his dad started!

Oetken Family Dentistry serves patients of all ages from its office at 1082 Cedar Cross Road in Dubuque, Iowa. Led by Dr. Ryan Oetken and Dr. Joseph A. Zuccaro, the team focuses on personalized care in a relaxed, friendly setting, and the practice describes itself as a single destination for comprehensive dentistry. Services range from preventive cleanings and exams, children's dentistry, and cosmetic treatments such as whitening, bonding, and veneers, to restorative care including fillings, crowns, bridges, and dentures. The office also offers periodontal (gum) care, root canal treatment, clear aligners, extractions and other oral surgery, nitrous oxide sedation, and emergency dental visits.
For patients missing teeth, the practice offers a dedicated set of dental implant services. These begin with a dental implant consultation and three-dimensional imaging and planning, and continue through single tooth implants, multiple teeth implants, full-arch replacement, bone grafting when needed, implant restorations, and post-implant care. Dr. Ryan Oetken earned his dental degree from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and completed advanced training at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City with a focus on oral surgery, implant dentistry, and comprehensive care. He has practiced since 2014, is completing a fellowship at the Kois Center, participates in the Spear Study Club, is a past president of the Dubuque District Dental Society, and is a member of the Iowa Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the University of Iowa Dental Alumni Board. Dr. Joseph A. Zuccaro is a Dubuque native who attended Loras College and graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1991. He has more than 34 years of experience, is a member of the American Dental Association and a board member of the Iowa Dental Association, and is a former president of the Dubuque District Dental Society.
