This place is a fraud with extremely toxic, rude, and incompetent people!!!!
Please beware and stay away from their trap or you will regret like me.
I got mistreated and misguided by the doctors and got insulted again and again by the receptionist, who is nice only on the first day when she traps you in their treatment plan. Once you are in, she will insult you and rob you of your money with the worst treatment and mistreatment. They go scot-free, as most of their patients are on-campus students and hence vulnerable to their insults and abuses.
I first visited this place back in February 2025 and got a dental treatment plan, which included a tooth extraction, deep cleaning of my gums, and multiple fillings, as they suggested. I followed their treatment plan for 5 months and kept paying them according to their demands, which varied before and after the same procedure.
While doing the dental fillings two weeks back, the doctor caused more damage to my other teeth than the ones he was treating. As a result, it caused pain and sensitivity in my teeth. When I visited them back today with the complaint of persistent pain, I was rudely asked to pay a thousand dollar more for a crown which was never part of their treatment plan since February. I have documentary evidence of all their treatment plans and X-Rays.
Here, I stand after spending hundreds of dollars from my pocket in co-pay and a thousand dollar from my dental insurance, still having worse pain!
Please find a better dental place in downtown than this Onsite Dental dilemma!

Sure, it's kind of sketchy to go to a dentist that's literally a trailer behind a gym, but Onsite Dental is the most modern and well-supplied dentist I've ever been to. They have state of the art scanning technology and dentists are always very up to date in their knowledge of dentistry research. They also make an effort to get to know you, especially if you're a regular. I always trust the knowledge and abilities of the staff and would gladly recommend it to other people on UC SHIP

Was having an OK time with them, until they cancelled my appointment day of due to equipment failure. That's totally understandable, however they were completely unresponsive in my multiple attempts to reschedule the appointment. They never answered my calls or texts in my 10+ attempts to contact them in the weeks following my cancelled visit. You'd think they'd try harder (or at all) to reschedule a patient they cancelled on last minute. I gave up and found a new dentist off campus who I am very happy with. Unless you're a student living on campus without a car, I wouldn't bother with this dental provider. They are not reliable. There are better options available to UCSC students. I hope this review saves somebody some time.

Every staff member made me feel very cared for and welcomed! Everything was explained to me in a way I understood and all of my questions were answered. I felt that I received excellent care from the very beginning (starting at the front desk) to the very end of my appointment with the doctor and hygienist. Thank you!

I love that everyone was so friendly and welcoming, it felt like they actually cared about my well-being. All of the staff was extremely accommodating and thoughtful; by far the best dental experience I have had. Along with this, they were very explicit and direct about what dental work I would need and why I would need said dental work, as well as costs. There were no surprise fees or procedures, which is extremely appreciated. Overall, each person I talked to was wonderful and offered me a ton of help and support. I hope to see them all again next visit!

About Onsite Dental
Onsite Dental's UC Santa Cruz location, previously located at 420 Hagar Drive inside the UCSC East Field House in Santa Cruz, California, has permanently closed as of September 26th, 2025. The practice was part of the Onsite Dental network, which brings dental care directly to workplaces and college campuses.
Because this location is closed, patients seeking dental care will need to look elsewhere. Onsite Dental has indicated that patients from this location can transfer their care and records to its San Francisco practice, but this Santa Cruz office itself is no longer operating or accepting appointments.
