I have severe dental anxiety, and to be honest, it’s something I’ve always been embarrassed by. Today was my second visit with Dr. Harris, and once again, the compassion shown by his entire team meant more to me than I can properly express.
At one point, my anxiety became overwhelming, and one of his nurses stayed with me and simply hugged me until I calmed down. I truly wish I remembered her name, because that kind of kindness is something you never forget.
From the front desk to the surgical staff, every single person in this office treats patients with genuine care, patience, and compassion. It’s rare to find people in healthcare who make you feel this safe and understood.
Dr. Harris is exceptional at what he does. He extracted two teeth for me today and another in January, and both experiences were far better than I ever expected. I had minimal bleeding, very little swelling, and almost no pain afterward. More importantly, he never made me feel rushed or dismissed. He truly takes care of his patients.
If you struggle with dental anxiety or are simply looking for an incredibly skilled and compassionate oral surgeon, I cannot recommend Dr. Harris highly enough.

Had a appointment to get teeth pulled for a upper denture. Dr. Harris and the whole staff was very professional. I was really dreading having this work done, but the Dr. And staff made it a very pleasant experience. I need to mention William Walden and his whole staff at Paducah Dental care for recommending me to them. Thanks again Chris and 5 stars to everyone.

The office staff was so friendly and helpful. I came with my grandson because he is on the spectrum. The office staff made us feel so comfortable. I use a cane for walking and they offered to get me a chair while we were in the exam room. The consultation was a great experience and everything was explained in detail. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone

Well, it wold be add to say, that I enjoyed visiting dentist office, where the doctor extracted tooth ,which was bothering me for years. What I was looking for was fast and painless procedure without complications. The local anesthesia hurt some, but just about 5 seconds only (when they injectedit,They could put me to sleep, but I didn't want that). Anyway after about 5 minutes or less the moler was out painlessly.
Doctor is strong, and very skilled and pleasant to be around, just like rest of the lady associates are. (at least I think so).
6 hrs after extraction I feel slite discomfort no pain.

Once again Dr. Harris and his staff come through. Had surgery there today and all went well like always! Solid professional and very nice staff who works behind him! I had one of his staff today rave about how he treats patients and his staff and I see the reviews don’t lie! I don’t praise too often but thought this business should be mentioned. He treats Veterans like me as family. Trust me I hate going here but seems I can’t stop doing stuff that knocks my teeth out haha but if I need future care I’ll come back. Great job gals! Keep making Dr Harris who he is…… Thanks again.

Oral and Facial Surgery of Western Kentucky is an oral and maxillofacial surgery practice located at 4975 Alben Barkley Drive, Suite 4 in Paducah, Kentucky. The practice offers a full range of dental implant care, including single tooth implants, full-arch tooth replacement, implant supported dentures, zygomatic implants, ceramic implants, and bone grafting procedures such as sinus lifts, ridge augmentation, and socket preservation. Patients can also be seen for wisdom tooth removal, tooth extractions, oral pathology, jaw joint disorders, and facial cosmetic treatments.
The office provides intravenous sedation in-house so patients can have a safe and comfortable treatment experience, and the practice makes every attempt to see patients with pain or an emergency the same day. Online registration forms are available so first visits can be prepared from home. In addition to Paducah, the practice serves patients from communities across the region, including Hopkinsville, Mayfield, Benton, and Murray in Kentucky, Metropolis, Carbondale, and Harrisburg in Illinois, and Cape Girardeau in Missouri. The office is open Monday through Thursday from 8 am to 5 pm and Friday from 8 am to 2 pm.
Meet the Doctors
The practice is led by Dr. RJ Harris III, DDS, an oral surgeon who is Board Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Harris earned his dental doctorate from the University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston, where he was elected to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon national dental honor society, and completed his oral and maxillofacial surgical training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, serving as Chief Resident in his final year. He practices a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, from dental implant surgery and wisdom tooth removal to corrective jaw surgery and treatment of facial trauma and pathology.
