I would not recommend this office to anyone who has severe anxiety or other conditions which might require accommodations and extra understanding and flexibility. They were incredibly rigid and unhelpful, refusing easy requests that other offices easily grant. It was also almost impossible to get clear, transparent answers to questions about procedures, whereas other practices have given detailed answers or offered to find out if an answer was unknown. They were repeatedly misleading about offering "general anesthesia" and I waited months after canceling at another practice (as I had a therapist letter saying I would benefit from full general) to realize they offered the same IV sedation as the first practice. My experience with this practice was incredibly frustrating and I do not recommend them.

About Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Associates

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Associates is an oral surgery practice with two offices, one at 1305 Greene Street in Marietta, Ohio and one in Parkersburg, West Virginia. The practice has been serving the community since 1999, and its oral surgeons diagnose and treat a wide range of problems including facial pain, facial injuries and fractures. Procedures offered include dental implant surgery, wisdom tooth removal and corrective jaw surgery, along with tooth extractions, exposure of impacted teeth, oral pathology, pre-prosthetic surgery and facial trauma care.

For patients considering dental implants, the practice's website covers replacing missing teeth, replacing all upper or lower teeth, implant supported overdentures and bone grafting for implants, including ridge augmentation, sinus lift and socket preservation. The site also describes 3D imaging and anesthesia, and notes that surgical staff members are certified oral and maxillofacial surgical assistants who help with procedures and with intravenous sedation. The practice serves patients from surrounding communities such as Belpre and Athens in Ohio and Vienna and Charleston in West Virginia, and says every attempt will be made to see patients with pain or an emergency the same day.
