**Read all of the reviews** before going to this practice. I went for a consultation for a tooth extraction and dental implant. Upon arriving, the office is pretty, however, there were four female staff members, all behind the front desk and not one of them greeted me. I had to announce I was there for an appointment and even then, no one was going to "take me on" I guess. Finally I had to verbally ask if someone was going to check me in. Not a good first impression for someone who could potentially be spending a lot of money at their practice. Big disconnect. Then, it gets worse. I am escorted to a room where I was given an "orientation" of sorts by a fellow who didn't feel like a dental assistant, more like a sales person. He told me that Dr. Hurtado would be with me momentarily. I waited 45 minutes in the room alone. Not one person came in to say the Doctor was running late, etc. So I decided to head to the rest room, asked someone in the hall if it was customary to have a first time consult patient wait almost an hour for the doctor with zero communication. One of the people ran into my room, looked at the computer, said a few things, as I was grabbing my purse to leave. She left the room. As I was about to walk down the hall to leave, there were now three staff members talking quietly ---and I told them I was leaving. As soon as I said so, Dr. Hurtado came rushing down the hall, saying something like he was in surgery (he wasn't according to my "salesman"), and I said I was leaving. He sat me down and began to talk very fast, using a lot of dental jargon, technology, etc. What drugs I would like and more pre and post procedure. I shared I was extremely unhappy with the lack of professionalism all the way around. Still, I listened to all that was involved in the proposed dental procedures. Then, Dr. Hurtado left the room. Before I could leave the exam room, the "sales man" team member comes back in to the exam room, apologizes for the lack of communication and proceeds to share with me the cost of the extraction ONLY. Read other reviews as this practice typically provides only part of the pricing upon your visit. I asked what the rest of the costs would be for the dental implant, and he first shared they usually don't provide that information on the first visit. I said I wanted to know--so he presented me with an a la carte sheet showing various pricing that he pointed out and we both did the math in our heads. And he stashed that paper away. I have to say...I was flabbergasted by my experience only to end up paying $300 for this suboptimal consultation experience. As a former marketing company owner (I sold my business several months ago), who specifically has worked with high end fee for service dental practices, doctors offices and more in major metropolitian areas, I know what elements that need to part of a patient's journey. And sadly, often you will find dentists and doctors that don't believe that Google Reviews make a difference in new patient acquisition. Which, if you are reading this review now, you'll see they really do matter when it comes to making a decision as to who is going to take care of your smile, and ultimately your health. Hoping that this practice will work hard on customer service, professionalism, and turn things around. I really do.
