I had my wisdom teeth removed in August 2023. Over the phone, they are very nice people. The surgery was brutal. I was under the impression (As it was never explicitly stated) that when I paid for anesthesia, it would mean I was unconscious. But by the time they started surgery, I was wide awake. Over a year later, I am writing this, and I still remember the surgery. VERY painful. Then, a month after surgery, I realized I had a shard of bone in the back of my mouth. About the size of a rockfish otolith. They told me they would remove it for a charge, so I removed it myself. I usually give companies the benefit of the doubt, but I just received a bill in the mail over a year after the surgery date. I paid in full the first time, so it’s a surprise to receive a bill in the mail. Nonetheless over a year later. Naomi was super nice over the phone and explained it was because my insurance didn’t cover the consultation, but my insurance wasn’t supposed to cover ANY of it. Shoddy work by a money hungry operation. My mouth did heal well AFTER I removed the shard of bone. BE AWARE

I had the absolute best experience getting all four wisdom teeth removed here. The staff was kind and very sweet. The surgeon was well versed and completely made me feel at ease. I had to change my appointment a few different times and the front desk (Lisa) was understanding and worked with me to find the right time. I felt like I was their patient for years even though I was there on a referral. I recommend this place completely!

first off the Surgeons there are excellent, but the financial manager it a complete idiot. on my first visit my Total amount billed was 200 dollars and I didn't have the total amount so i paid 150 dollars which the financial manager gladly took, leaving me a balance of 50 dollars, basically agreeing to making payments, today i go to have 5 teeth extracted and was told my bill would be 3211.20 in that amount was the two teeth that had already been extracted, so there basically trying to bill me for the same service twice. I ask her why the change in the policy, but she denied such a thing and keep trying to defend herself instead of aplologizing and trying to work out something with a patient, I will never go back to this place as long as that moron is there.

Both my boys needed their wisdom teeth out. OSA had them both in on the same morning. They were finished and we we're headed home in less than 2 hours. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.
They checked on the boys the next day. The boys were already back to school. I am very pleased with Oral Surgery Associates.

Terrible horrible awful experience, I was told I could be seen if I was able to get there within a few hours I said ok I’d come right away, upon arriving to their office I immediately felt uncomfortable and out of place the best description I felt as if I was walking into a plastic surgery office in Los Angeles or Miami! Not to mention their lobby is completely separate from the rest of the business including receptionist desk & dental rooms etc which felt secluded and cold. I filled out required paperwork, I never did actually see a dentist nor a dental room, as the receptionist came out after turning in paperwork to inform me that after the dentist “going over” my forms advised her I wouldn’t be able to get extractions or IV sedation due too My size and weight implying the chair capacity wouldn’t hold me, and dentist wouldn’t be able to move chair if needed during procedure?! And sorry for having me fill out paperwork for nothing….. wow the dentist at this office shouldn’t have degrees and shouldn’t be helping the public we live in 2023 with how many different body types especially living here in Alaska such a diverse state and community. Shocked and appalled is an understatement. I would have more respect for honest truth or even saying hey I wouldn’t feel comfortable giving you sedation due to your weight because of risks involved or explained the real reason(s) why but to not even meet me, exam me, or talk to me direct and advise me why you wouldn’t preform the requested procedure is crazy so unprofessional. I will be sure to tell all family friends associates etc not to do any kind of business here. Way to discriminate against ppl that aren’t Barbie sized… Funniest thing I’ve been to many other dental offices including the one who referred me for the extractions I fit in their chairs just fine w room to spare n dentist had no issues moving the chair while I was in it!

About Oral Surgery Associates of Alaska
Oral Surgery Associates of Alaska is an oral and maxillofacial surgery practice located at 625 East 34th Avenue in Anchorage, with a second office serving the Kenai area. Oral Surgery Associates of Alaska is your Anchorage and Kenai, AK oral surgeon, providing quality oral surgical care, dental implants, and wisdom teeth removal for children, teens, and adults. For patients considering dental implants, the practice offers a full range of related procedures, from single tooth extractions to more involved bone preparation, so that implant placement can be handled by a surgical specialist rather than a general dentist.
The practice emphasizes patient comfort throughout the surgical process. Oral surgery can be delicate and complex, but the team strives to make each visit as comfortable and relaxing as possible, providing patients with a variety of solutions and information so they know exactly what to expect. Before any procedure, the office walks patients through clear preparation steps, including avoiding food or drink for eight hours prior to an appointment and taking regular medications with only a small sip of water no later than two hours before arrival, and having a responsible adult accompany them for the visit. For patients weighing dental implant options such as All-on-4 or full-arch restoration, this kind of structured, surgeon-led process can help make a complex treatment feel more manageable from consultation through recovery.
