He later completed residency training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio while also completing an MD degree, and went on to serve as the sole Air Force oral and maxillofacial surgeon for the Republic of Korea before returning to Wilford Hall as Director of Resident Education and Training.
