Dr. Shessel performed the oral surgery on our daughter and made the entire process extremely comfortable for us all. When we met Dr. Shessel for the consultation, he answered all of our concerns regarding MTHFR gene and was not dismissive of any of our questions and concerns around this health condition. The surgery was scheduled a few weeks later and we were done within an hour. They made it super easy and less stress for us to get her to the car by instructing us to park in a reserved spot and provided wheelchair assistance. Later that day, Dr. Shessel personally gave us a follow up call to check in on our daughter.

I have been going to Dr Aitken since 2016. And I wanted to say he is a very understanding and patient dentist. I would definitely recommend any one that needs an extraction to him. If I move to another state I would travel to come to his office. He has the best staff that any dentist could ever ask for. I pray that God continues to bless his practice.

The doctors and their team were incredible. Polite, professional, and informative. I can't say enough about the compassion they have for their patients. After Dr. Shessel and Dr Aiken evaluated my pain, Dr Shessel scheduled an emergency surgery the very next day. The team fixed my pain. I cannot say enough great things about this practice. BTW, I received a follow up phone call that evening to follow up after my procedure. Thank you, and thank you again for relieving my pain

Tried to schedule a consultation, but the experience was frustrating from start to finish. The receptionist was dismissive and didn’t seem interested in helping. She asked when can I come in for a consultation, and when I said I was available today or tomorrow she responded with “I don’t have that,” and didn’t offer any alternative times or try to work with me at all.
It’s their job to guide the conversation and provide clear, helpful service. I already have x rays from my dentist, I can ask him to send them over and I can ask him for a referral. We could have just started from there. But she was so dismissive. Also I was looking for a quick turnaround as my wisdom tooth is really hurting.
Not sure what I was supposed to say to get basic assistance here, but overall it felt unhelpful and unwelcoming. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.

Dr. Aiken and the entire staff were wonderful. I called first thing in the morning in terrible pain, they got me scheduled that same afternoon, and by the end of the day my aching tooth was gone. I was really nervous about pain during the procedure, but they made me feel completely comfortable and I ended up worrying for no reason. It was nearly painless. I can’t recommend this practice enough.

Meet the Doctors
Andrew C. Aiken, DMD, MD and Drew Shessel, DMD are the practicing oral and maxillofacial surgeons at this location. Both are board-certified Diplomates of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Aiken earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and his dental degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, then completed additional hospital-based medical and surgical training. Dr. Shessel earned his DMD at the Medical University of South Carolina and completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery training at LSU Health Sciences Center and Broward Health Medical Center, and he is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
