The staff at Dr. Heineken’s office at Pacific Smile Design are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with big smiles all around, which immediately made me feel comfortable.
The first office visit is very comprehensive and uses up-to-date technology, including 3D scans of your mouth, X-rays, and photos of your smile and teeth to provide a thorough evaluation. Dr. Diana Heineken is extremely knowledgeable about oral health and takes the time to educate you so you can make informed decisions about your care. I especially appreciated that she never pressured me into making decisions on the spot and instead made me feel supported throughout the process.
A special thank you to RDH Angelica for being so kind, helpful, and informative during my visit. Overall, a great experience and I would highly recommend this office!

Dr. Heineken and her entire team are exceptional! From the moment I walked into the office, everyone was warm, welcoming, and professional. Dr. Heineken took the time to listen to my concerns, explain my options clearly, and make sure I felt comfortable throughout the process. Her attention to detail and artistic eye are truly impressive. The results look beautiful and natural. I highly recommend Dr. Heineken to anyone looking for an outstanding cosmetic dentist in San Diego!

I just wanted to take the time to come on here and say that I was very pleased and extremely impressed with this place! I want to say thank you very much to Dr. Heineken, Gil, Darlene and Angelica you guys were all amazing and I really enjoyed my visit along with the dental care that I received today. I have found my new favorite dentist and I will definitely be coming back! I would highly recommend this place to anyone that’s looking for a great dental practice that will make you feel right at home and not to mention offer exceptional customer service! Thank you again guys!

I absolutely loved being a patient with Dr. Heineken! She is incredibly kind, smart, and understanding, and I really looked forward to all of my visits. She is one of the best dentists I’ve ever had.
On top of it all, the office staff and hygienist are all incredible. I felt very comfortable with them and knew they had my interest in mind. I have recommended and will continue to recommend my friends to Dr. Heineken.

First time patient and plan to return. We had two appointments for two members of my family and I appreciate that we could schedule on the same day. We had x-rays, cleaning, and exams. Here’s your need to know: fill out the forms before you go (don’t worry, you can use your phone & don’t have to print anything), parking is free but it can get busy so plan ahead & arrive early, they are on the first floor just past the elevator if you enter on the elevator side it’ll be on your left. It’s a building with several offices, so the signage in the hallway isn’t huge. Call if you get lost. They’re super nice. They took a detailed history using the forms online & they went over it with us in the room. Darlene was great with x-rays and the initial steps - she was good at giving cues so we got good X-rays and I didn’t bite my tongue or her fingers. Linh did our cleanings - she provided education as well. She was meticulous and gentle. Dr. Heineken was wonderful. She did our exams and went over the treatment plan with us. She answered my questions thoroughly. The whole staff worked seamlessly together to provide excellent care and I liked their record keeping and documentation practices. They gave me a transparent quote and made sure I understood everything in the treatment plan. I look forward to our next visit! Since it’s San Diego and this is relevant - they do have a bathroom available upon request... I can’t speak from experience with feeling afraid, because the dentist doesn’t bother me, but I can say that the natural lighting was really nice, the waiting room was comfortable, the whole space is inviting & clean and it doesn’t smell “like the dentist” it smells neutral/clean. It looks like the pictures you see in their reviews and the people look like their pictures as well. The staff asked if I had any fears before they started, they spoke kindly & calmly to me & my family. I noticed their intake forms asked about dentist fears. Before my exam and cleaning they went over the process & said we could stop at anytime and I could raise my hand to signal - if I was a person with dental fears I would give them a try. I noticed a staff member carrying noise canceling headphones to a room for a patient. I would add that they don’t shame about dental hygiene or how long it’s been since your last visit (we moved and between new jobs & a new city it’s taken awhile to get to the dentist - they didn’t shame me). They just want to take good care of you. I hope that makes it easier for someone with worries. ** edit to add photos of the hallway **

Meet the Doctors
Dr. Fred J. Kim, DDS, FAAID, is the dentist at Pacific Smiles Dental Implant Center. He received his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in 2003 and returned to the South Bay area, where he grew up, to care for patients in private practice. Dr. Kim has completed more than 1000 hours of additional training in comprehensive and cosmetic dentistry, including advanced smile design and adult cosmetic braces, along with extensive training in placing and restoring dental implants. He is one of only about 400 dentists board certified in implant dentistry and holds the Diplomate designation from the American Board of Oral Implantology and Implant Dentistry, which represents the highest level of skill in implant dentistry. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. The practice's website also credits Dr. Tully with performing many difficult implant and cosmetic cases at Pacific Smiles, leaving patients with beautiful, natural looking smiles.
