I had a fantastic experience at Pathway Dental. From the moment I walked in, everyone was welcoming and kind. The person who did my X-rays was amazing — funny, thorough, and instantly put me at ease. Dr. Vitez was wonderful as well and took the time to explain everything clearly.
This was the first time I’ve ever left a dental appointment not feeling scared of the treatment plan. Instead, I actually feel relieved and genuinely looking forward to getting help with my teeth, which says a lot.
They also work with you on the financial side, which made the whole experience even better. Truly a wonderful office all around. I really, really recommend this place.

I am sooo grateful!!! This was the most efficient and kind, considerate dental experience ever. Dr. Vitez is amazing. She replaced a crown on the spot with some extremely intricate dental work with the gentle kindness and efficiency of high level professionalism. I’m so impressed and thankful. The rest of the staff were equally as present and supportive in every way.

Looking forward to working with Pathway Dental Group. I have been going through a nightmare at my old dentist office and to come in here and be treated so nicely is like a breath of fresh air. Dr Tubbs is so nice and explained my treatment so clearly. :)

About Pathway Dental Group Santa Barbara
Pathway Dental Group serves downtown Santa Barbara from its office at 1525 State Street, Suite 103, a short walk from Alameda Park. The practice states that its dentists have provided care to Santa Barbara residents for more than 30 years. For patients missing teeth or facing failing teeth, the office offers dental implants, including All-on-4 full arch treatment, along with the related surgical care that implant cases often require, such as extractions and bone grafting. Founder Dr. Sten Ericson trained in two residencies in implant surgery as well as additional residencies in advanced bone grafting, gum grafting, and oral surgery.
Beyond implants, the Santa Barbara office handles general and family dentistry, including cleanings, crowns, bridges, root canals, dentures, and pediatric visits, plus cosmetic options such as Invisalign clear aligners, veneers, and teeth whitening. Sedation dentistry and emergency appointments are available. The office opens early, at 7:00 AM Tuesday through Friday, which can make it easier to schedule visits before work, and it is open Monday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Meet the Doctors
The Santa Barbara office is served by three dentists listed on the practice's website. Dr. Sten Ericson, the founder of Pathway Dental Group, completed two residencies in implant surgery and multiple residencies in advanced bone grafting, gum grafting, oral surgery, and surgical orthodontics. Dr. Kent Tubbs earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Lewis and Clark College and graduated with high honors from Oregon Health and Science University's School of Dentistry. Dr. Jennifer Vitez attended Boston University School of Dental Medicine, from which she graduated with honors.
