Been meaning to write a review for a long time. The dental care from the whole team is stellar. It’s a luxury dental experience. Warm and scented neck pillows. Hand paraffin wax. Excellent hygienists, so thorough and gentle. It’s quite evident they care about their patients and their work. I’ve never been up-charged for anything. Furthermore, Dr. Karl designed veneers for my front four teeth last year. It prevented the need for Invisalign treatment, while simultaneously resolving overcrowding. I can’t express how pleased I am with his work. My friends told me I shouldn’t and don’t need it, but they eat their words now. It’s like God gifted me with a naturally beautiful smile. Blended color gradients with shaping that looks innate, perfectly imperfect. Come here. Nowhere better.

Best dentist and staff in the bay area. Dr. Carl is amazing, his front desk staff is very polite and friendly. My sons front tooth got broken and Dr. Carl got us in the next morning and rebuilt the tooth so perfectly you would never know it was broken off (top 1/3rd of the lower front was gone). Great work, great staff, wonderful experience.

I’ve been going to PCCD since 2018 and have always loved it! I first started when I was living in Santa Cruz and would make the drive over the hill to Los Altos. Later, when I moved to Paso Robles, I tried a local dentist but quickly realized it was well worth the drive to keep going to PCCD — I literally made the 6-hour round trip for all my cleanings and dental work. That’s how much I trust and love this team! Now living in Marin County, I gave a local dentist a try again… and nope — PCCD is still the best! The office staff is accommodating, kind, and friendly, and the care from both the hygienists and dentists is consistently amazing. From replacing my 20-year-old veneers to placing an implant, they’ve been absolutely spectacular. My most recent experience with Dr. Pham was exceptional. I have osteoporosis and am about to begin a medication that can (rarely) impact the jaw. I’d been experiencing some jaw pain and was nervous to start the medication. The staff got me in right away to see Dr. Pham, who was so kind and thorough — he took the time to do a full exam and then literally sat with me for half an hour to talk through everything, making sure I understood and felt comfortable. I left the office confident and calm, with all my anxiety gone. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Pham and the entire PCCD team. Go here — they are the best!

Dr. Field is fantastic. He took the time to explain my treatment, answered all my questions, and made sure I was comfortable the entire visit. The staff is kind and efficient, and the office has a calm, modern feel. I’m very happy with my care and would definitely recommend!!!

I had an excellent consultation with Dr. Marlana Shile about the pros and cons of a bridge vs an implant. She gave thoughtful and in-depth information. Extremely helpful for making a decision. Appreciated her expertise and clear explanations! Terry

About Peninsula Center of Cosmetic Dentistry

Peninsula Center of Cosmetic Dentistry, located at 99 3rd St in Los Altos, offers dental implants as part of a broader menu of restorative and cosmetic dental services. According to the practice, dental implants are described as the gold standard in tooth replacement, helping preserve the jawbone while restoring the ability to eat, speak, and laugh with confidence. For patients who are missing all or most of their teeth, the practice also offers implant-retained dentures, which use implants to anchor full or partial dentures securely in place instead of relying on traditional removable dentures.

The practice notes that patients who have been told they lack sufficient jawbone density may still be candidates for implants, since bone grafting procedures can be used to build up bone before implant placement. Treatment planning is handled individually, and the office also offers a range of sedation options, including nitrous oxide, oral conscious sedation, and IV sedation administered by a certified anesthesiologist, for patients who feel anxious about dental visits. Extractions, when needed to prepare for tooth replacement, are performed with sedation support, and the team discusses replacement options such as implants or bridges afterward.

Meet the Doctors

The practice's clinical team includes Dr. Joseph Field, Dr. Scott Oh, Dr. Duc Pham, Dr. Marlana Shile, Dr. Karl Supal, and Dr. John Van. Dr. Van is described as having nearly two decades of experience in cosmetic and implant dentistry, with expertise that includes implant reconstruction and full mouth rehabilitation.
