I attempted to have my wisdom teeth removed in 2017 by Dr. Lawrence Pijut and had a deeply distressing experience. Even though I received nitrous oxide and local anesthesia, I remained fully conscious and could see and feel everything that was happening. When the doctor began cutting into my gums, I told him I could feel it. He accused me of lying multiple times and continued anyway. After I continued to express discomfort, he called my mom into the room and awkwardly stated that he was “uncomfortable” continuing. I felt dismissed, unheard, and completely dehumanized. Because of this traumatic experience, I still haven’t had my wisdom teeth removed in 2025. I continue working through this trauma in therapy, and have developed anxiety and distrust around dental and surgical care as a result. This experience left emotional scars that still affect me today. I do not recommend Dr. Pijut. If you’re considering wisdom teeth removal (or any oral surgery)please seek a provider who listens to your concerns, and treats you with basic human respect and empathy.

I just would like to thank Mr Pijut for helping me. My teeth were horrible. It took lots of patience dealing with me I assume. But all that matters is he did a great job. Thank you 🙏

I had a terrible experience with the office staff at Dr. Pijut Lawrence J DDS on Capital Medical Blvd in Tallahassee, FL. The office manager was extremely rude, and the young lady who answered the phone was just as unprofessional and unhelpful. Their lack of basic customer service and compassion was appalling. On top of that, they illegally denied my request for my medical records due to an alleged unpaid balance. Florida law (F.S. 456.057) clearly states that a provider cannot withhold medical records for non-payment, yet they still refused to release them. To make matters worse, the unpaid balance was from a missed appointment that I was unable to attend because my son was hospitalized. Despite explaining this, they showed no compassion or understanding and still refused to provide my legally entitled records. Their behavior was unethical, unprofessional, and unacceptable. That being said, Dr. Pijut himself has always been knowledgeable, has great bedside manner, and has made my 12-year-old feel comfortable at every visit. However, he should seriously reconsider who he hires to be the face of his office because his current staff is driving patients away. Due to this experience, a formal complaint will be filed with Consumer Services as well as the Florida Board of Dentistry. Steer clear of this office! There are many other dentists in the area just as qualified—if not more—who actually exercise professionalism.

Dr. Pijut and his staff are among the best medical care I've ever received. I had my wisdom teeth pulled, and I was super nervous, but the nurse and doctor walked me through everything step by step and really put me at ease. The whole procedure took about an hour and the Doctor made it a very pleasant experience, with very little pain once completed. 10/10 all the way :)

I cant recommend Dr.Pijut and his staff enough! He removed my 4 wisdom teeth a while back and extracted another tooth. I told him i had very bad dental anxiety and instead of doing it at the office he did it at the hospital where i was put to sleep. He and his staff have always been very nice to my mom and i and i appreciate that as many people in this world are very rude. Alot of people speak badly of him or his staff but honestly maybe those people are taking what they say wrong or looking at it wrong because every visit for us was lovely.
