If you need an oral surgeon this is the place! I've had a few procedures done by Dr Kunkel, (2 implants placed, and 8 years later, an older implant removed) and each time was great. My daughters had their wisdom teeth out as well and all went very well. Dental surgery isn't pleasant but this office, Dr Kunkel, and the whole staff are so welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable, and relaxed (with their patients and each other!) that it makes the experience much easier to get through. I won't go anywhere else! Highly recommend!

Dr Kunkel knows what he’s doing. I had been dreading this surgery for almost a decade. I originally had 7 wisdom teeth and 4 of those were on bottom and heavily impacted. I had the top two on right side removed back in 2019 and the surgeon then told me removal of the bottoms would likely result in life long nerve damage and “would be a liability that most surgeons wouldn't touch”. Fast forward to 2026 and through some research I found Pikes Peak Oral Surgery. Nervous, I made an appointment for a consultation to see what my options were at a new facility. Dr Kunkel told me about a relatively new procedure where the crown of the impacted teeth could be cut out, leaving the roots intact and avoiding the nerve damage. We set up a surgery time and now I was anxious because it would be my first time going under with anesthesia. They could not have made it a more pleasant experience. The surgery went exactly as planned and Dr Kunkel was very involved and responsive during recovery. I could write a ton more about how great these people are, but I digress. If you’re having anxiety about a procedure you need done or are just looking for more than one surgical option, this is the place you’ve been looking for- these are the people you’ve been looking for. It’s never fun to get surgery and even less fun to pay for it, but there’s not a better place I know of to get it done than right here at Pikes Peak Oral Surgery. Thank you Dr Kunkel and all other staff. Truly have nothing negative to say.

I feel great and loved to have such dedicated personnel working on their off hours in making my tooth extraction possible within one day (to prevent any further infection) before my long trip (over a month) - Dr Kunkel checked on his schedule after hours for coverage in response to the findings from Dr Transtrum, Dr Listello and Ms Karina returned to the clinic to perform the procedure with smiles on their face, Ms Karina then carefully went over the post operative instructions. What a lovely and professional team Pikes Peak Oral Surgery clinic is! This is the living proof of customer satisfaction and commitment to excellence.

My previously reinfected root canal tooth was cracked so it had to be extracted. This morning Dr. Kunkel and his team gave me anesthesia (my request because I couldn't take the shots on my front top tooth under my nose). Nes did a painless IV (great job Nes)! I woke up from the procedure and felt great! They were amazing! Dr. Kunkel and his team took great care of me...thank you to all five of you! I highly recommend Dr. Kunkel and Pikes Peak Oral Sugery! He's giving me my first dental implant. The office gives you post op directions on taking care of myself once I'm home, and they nicely answer any questions I had. 2-3 hours after I wrote this post (after office hours) I received a call from Dr. Kunkel asking how I was doing and asking if I had any questions? Very impessive! He truly cares.

I visited the office to have a 50-year-old baby tooth removed and replaced with an implant. While I don’t normally get nervous about dentistry, I was a bit anxious about this procedure. From the start, the awesome staff put me right at ease.
Brittney (Happy Birthday!) was incredibly helpful with my many questions, and Nesreen is a total gem—she walked me through the entire procedure and post-op care with explanations that were easy to understand. Dr. Kunkel was friendly, personable, and did an amazing job with the extraction. He kept me engaged the whole time, and even called me that evening to check in. That kind of 'above and beyond' service is rare.
No surprises, no jolts, just a smooth and professional experience. It’s clear they’ve done this hundreds of times. While dental work isn't exactly 'fun,' I would 100% recommend this team to anyone!
