What a great dental experience! Dr. Hartman was pleasant. He explained the process of a tooth extraction and insertion of implant clearly. He thoroughly answered my questions. The whole process took maybe 25 minutes after I was numb. I got for a follow up in a week, then 3 months. Would highly recommend.

I had my wisdom teeth removed at this location. Michelle was very kind and made me feel more comfortable as I was nervous before my procedure. Dr. Hartman was very nice and did a great job. I would recommend this practice

My son had 4 wisdom teeth removed. Everyone was polite and professional from the front desk to the surgical room. They answered all our questions, respected our nerves and had us home in an hour! I give you all an A+

They did a wonderful job. From the time I called to get scheduled, to going in and getting my wisdom tooth out, all of the staff were so friendly and helpful. I thought I was just going in for a consultation and then someone luckily cancelled their appointment and while I procrastinated 2 YEARS to make my appointment, scared it was going to be miserable, in less than 10 minutes Dr Smiga had my wisdom tooth out and I was driving back home (I know it isn't like that for everyone but they reassured me my wisdom tooth was no big deal, and it wasn't). It wasn't painful other than a little pressure for one of the shots, I didn't feel anything, and even hours/the day after, only some soreness (and of course there's a hole till it fills in). But I would 100% return to pgh oral surgery if I needed any work done in the future. I realize not everything is so simple, but I felt that they took the time to explain everything in detail and allowed me to ask questions (were also extremely personable), so even if it was a bigger procedure I'm confident I would know exactly what to expect based on my experience with them this time.

I've heard great things about the dentists and surgeons but the lady who answered the phone to schedule my appointment was so rude and snappy and made me feel uncomfortable. I would ask basic questions and her tone was just so rude. I canceled my appointment because of her. I have been in a lot of pain due to my wisdom tooth so to receive that type of treatment just in a phone call didn't make me feel confident paying for an appointment and later surgery in case all of the staff behaves like her. I went to Aspen Dental because this an emergency and I'm surprised that their receptionist was kinder.

About Pittsburgh Oral Surgery, P.C.

Pittsburgh Oral Surgery, P.C. is an oral and maxillofacial surgery practice that has served Pittsburgh and the surrounding communities for over 60 years. Its Monroeville office, located at 2550 Mosside Boulevard, Suite 214, welcomes patients from Monroeville, Murrysville, Trafford, and nearby suburbs, and is one of four offices the group operates alongside its Shadyside, South Hills, and Tarentum locations. The practice describes its surgeons as board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeons, and its staff attend regular emergency training and anesthesia safety courses. The entire team is trained and certified in basic life support and CPR, and the anesthesia team is made up of certified registered nurses.

For patients missing teeth, the practice places dental implants, including single-stage implants that do not require a second procedure to uncover them, and in some cases can place an implant at the same time a tooth is extracted. Full mouth options described on the site include implant-supported overdentures that snap onto a support bar and screw-retained dentures held permanently in place by five or more implants. The surgeons also perform bone grafting, ridge augmentation, sinus lifts, and socket preservation to prepare the jaw for implants, and offer intravenous sedation or nitrous oxide (laughing gas) for comfort during surgery. Implant treatment is coordinated with the patient's own restorative dentist, who makes the final crown or denture. Other services include wisdom teeth removal, tooth extractions, impacted canines, facial trauma, jaw surgery, oral pathology, and pre-prosthetic surgery.

Meet the Doctors

The practice's clinical team includes six oral and maxillofacial surgeons, whom the practice describes as board-certified: Dr. Martin E. Eichner, DDS; Dr. Eric R. Smiga, DMD; Dr. Sarah D. Davies, DDS, MD; Dr. Neil A. Robertson, DMD; Dr. Bryce Hartman, DDS; and Dr. Nathaniel Powers, DDS, MD. The practice's website does not specify which surgeons see patients at the Monroeville office.
