I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Plume Dental. I scheduled a deep cleaning appointment weeks in advance and even canceled work to make sure I could attend. However, just two minutes before my scheduled appointment time, they called to cancel due to last minute emergency without providing a proper explanation or taking accountability.
This is incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful of patients' time. When someone plans weeks ahead and rearranges their work schedule, the least a clinic can do is communicate responsibly and in a timely manner. Canceling at the last minute shows a serious lack of organization and consideration.
The front desk staff member on the right was very discourteous. She seemed annoyed when I expressed my concerns and responded in a confrontational manner. Patient-facing roles require patience and professionalism, which were unfortunately lacking.
I would not recommend Plume Dental based on this experience. Patients deserve reliability and accountability, especially in healthcare settings.

My experience here was excellent from start to finish. The front desk team was not only professional but genuinely warm and personable, making check-in effortless. I was able to see all treatment and pricing prior to the visit and again after.The assistant was incredibly caring, attentive, and clearly knowledgeable, which made me feel completely at ease throughout my visit. The Dr. was amazing. Extremely professional and thoughtful. Truly a five-star experience highly recommend.

Great dentist!! He was gentle with my cleaning, and took his time. I hadn't had a cleaning in almost 4 years! I asked the office to schedule my x-rays and cleaning at the same time, and they were able to accommodate! Front office staff is also sweet and courteous. I would highly recommend them!

I had one of the worst dental experiences of my life at Plume Dental Implant Studio in Lathrop, CA 95330. What began as a routine dental visit covered by my insurance turned into weeks of pain, confusion, unexpected charges, and regret. I’m sharing this to help others avoid going through what I did.
I chose this clinic because it was close to home and I had dental insurance. During my first visit, the dentist took X-rays, conducted an exam, and gave me a full treatment plan. They explained that the costs not covered by insurance could be financed through a partnered lending company. I agreed.
The plan included two price options for a crown: one with a root canal and one without. Without consulting me, the dentist chose not to perform the root canal, claiming it would save me money. A temporary crown was placed, and I was told the permanent crown would be sent from a lab later.
That night, once the anesthesia wore off, I experienced intense pain. I thought it was normal at first, but the pain lasted for several days. I returned to the clinic and saw a different dentist, who prescribed antibiotics and painkillers, and gave me an appointment for my next visit. I had never experienced this much discomfort from a dental procedure before. I couldn't eat or sleep and had to pay out of pocket for the medications.
At the follow-up, my regular dentist said I did need a root canal after all. He wasn’t confident he could complete it and mentioned referring me to a specialist. Worse, because he had previously decided not to perform the root canal, the cost wasn’t included in the financing plan. I had to pay for it out of pocket. He offered me a 50% discount, which I reluctantly accepted just to move forward.
To be fair, the root canal was done reasonably well and I didn’t need a referral. But the problems didn’t stop there. A new temporary crown was placed but fell off shortly after. I waited three weeks with no word about my permanent crown—until I finally called them myself. When I arrived, they discovered the crown was the wrong size and had to remake it. Another temporary crown was placed, which again fell off the very next day.
At my next visit, the front desk gave me another unexpected bill over $100, claiming my insurance didn’t cover certain parts of the treatment—even though the original plan was supposedly built “around my insurance.” I asked why, and they told me to contact my insurance company. But shouldn’t a dental office that prepares insurance-based treatment plans know what’s covered?
I absolutely despise the kind of practice where pricing is agreed upon at the beginning, only for the patient to be hit with unexplained charges halfway through under vague or questionable justifications. It’s dishonest, and it puts patients in a difficult position when they’ve already committed time and money.
In the end, I suffered a week of avoidable pain, dealt with unreliable temporary crowns, repeated delays, multiple visits, and paid significantly more than what I was led to expect. I’ve completely lost trust in this clinic and have decided not to return.
Dental care should be based on transparency, consent, and professional integrity. Unfortunately, I found none of that here.

The root canal was on the original plan but removed without my knowledge. I only found out after days of pain, and your office later agreed it was necessary. Calling that "clinical judgment" doesn’t erase the harm caused.
I still had to pay out-of-pocket for medication and now wait even longer because the permanent crown was made incorrectly. Your 50% discount wasn’t a favor—it was a small remedy after a big mistake.
You made the plan based on my insurance, so any coverage issues should’ve been explained upfront. I stand by my review and hope others ask more questions before agreeing to treatment.
