I had my wisdom teeth extracted by Dr. Bangiyev, and overall, he did a good job with the procedure. My main concern, however, is with the billing department and how my insurance claim was handled. When I arrived for my appointment, I was given a letter that supposedly showed my insurance would not cover a specific procedure code. I asked the staff to double-check, and they returned with a different letter and a new explanation, which immediately raised concerns. After leaving the office, I called my insurance company and arranged a three-way call with the office. During that call, my insurance representative clearly confirmed that the procedure code was, in fact, a covered benefit. Unfortunately, the billing representative, Diego L., was very disrespectful throughout the conversation. He repeatedly raised his voice, saying, "I don't understand why you are not satisfied with us”, also proceeded with saying “you don’t know how insurance works in this country”, while interrupting both me and the insurance representative multiple times. His unprofessional attitude made an already frustrating situation much worse. My insurance ultimately issued payment, and I later called the office to follow up on my reimbursement. I was told I would receive it by the end of the week, but that never happened. While I appreciate the quality of care provided by Dr. Bangiyev, my experience with the billing department was extremely disappointing. Better communication, accurate insurance verification, and respectful customer service would go a long way toward improving the overall patient experience.
