I had a visit with Andy the hygienist today at Premier smile I couldn’t be happier with the results first of all he’s professional. Explains everything in detail.. And the outcome was perfect. I would recommend him to anyone if you have fear of the dentist here no more go to Andy. I have to add Dr. Johnson and her staff has been absolutely wonderful in particular Gigi, who is a dental assistant at premier smile. Gigi has such a personality to make you feel comfortable. She has a compassionate smile and such a professional attitude about her work. She makes sure that you are feeling comfortable Throughout any procedure/Treatment that’s needed. I give her five stars she is outstanding!!!

I was on vacation in Florida when I suddenly experienced a painful dental emergency. Dr. Johnson and her team saw me incredibly fast — literally within minutes of walking in. The staff was welcoming, efficient, and very professional.
Dr. Johnson diagnosed my issue accurately and explained everything clearly. Even though this was a short-term emergency visit, she treated me effectively and got me out of pain so I could enjoy the rest of my trip. I genuinely felt cared for, and the whole team handled the situation wonderfully.
If you ever need emergency dental care in the area, I highly recommend Dr. Johnson and her practice. Excellent experience. Thank you!

Premier Smile Center has truly become my go-to dentist. Coming from a dentist who didn’t show much interest in my overall dental health, the experience here was a night-and-day difference. Dr. Johnson was incredibly thorough and took the time to explain every question I had about my teeth. She never rushed the appointment and made sure all the necessary tests were done to properly diagnose my concerns.
I also absolutely loved her dental assistant, Gigi! She was amazing—made the X-rays quick and easy and helped me feel completely relaxed throughout the visit. The entire team made me feel cared for, and I finally feel confident about my dental health again.

I had such a great experience. The entire team made me feel so comfortable from start to finish. I honestly didn’t feel anything during the procedure, which was a huge relief, and they were incredibly fast without ever feeling rushed. Everyone was so kind, gentle, and sweet, and they really took the time to make sure I was okay the whole time. This was such a positive experience. Highly recommend!

I needed a new dentist and I will definitely be sticking with Premier Smile Center. Their entire team is very professional and kind. I'm so appreciative that they were able to squeeze me in same-day when I had an emergency. I'm also a little bit of a baby and they were so patient with me. Dr. Johnson took her time to explain everything and make sure I was comfortable, Gigi the dental assistant was amazing at calming my nerves and even wrote me a card to check up on me after my appointment. Dr. Han and Dr. Bui were also incredible, they somehow managed to make a root canal and filling painless! Thank you so much to the entire team!!

About Premier Smile Center
Premier Smile Center is a general, family, and cosmetic dental practice located on East Oakland Park Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The practice offers a full range of implant related services, including single tooth implants, implant supported dentures, full arch replacement, bone grafting, and All on 4 style treatment, alongside general and preventive care, cosmetic dentistry, Invisalign, teeth whitening, and sedation options for patients who feel anxious about dental visits.
The practice was founded in 2005 by Dr. Charmaine Johnson, who graduated with honors from dental school and went on to complete additional residency training focused on advanced techniques and on treating patients with complex medical conditions. She later held an assistant directorship position in the general practice residency program at the University of Illinois at Chicago and served as adjunct faculty at Nova Southeastern University. Premier Smile Center works with a team that includes in-house specialists for gum and implant related care, so many patients considering dental implants can have consultation, planning, and treatment coordinated within the same practice.
Meet the Doctors
Dr. Charmaine Johnson, DDS, is the founder of Premier Smile Center in Fort Lauderdale. A general and cosmetic dentist with more than 30 years of experience, she earned her dental degree with honors from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa in 1995, then completed a General Practice Residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she served as chief resident. She has also taught as Assistant Director of that residency program and as adjunct faculty at Nova Southeastern University, and she has served with the Commission on Dental Accreditation since 2003. Patients know her for a warm, non-judgmental approach and a focus on helping people understand and care for their dental health. She is joined by a team of doctors at this location: Diane Alvarez, DMD; Baokhoi Bui, DDS; Tamara Tavakoli, DDS; and Cem Menekse, DMD.
