As a new patient, I had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The environment is warm, welcoming, and comfortable, and the entire staff is incredibly friendly and professional. Dr. Barba took the time to listen to all of my concerns and explained everything thoroughly in a way that was easy to understand. I never felt rushed and truly appreciated how attentive and knowledgeable she was throughout my visit. I highly recommend Dr. Barba and team to anyone looking for a dentist, especially if you’re a new patient and feeling a little nervous about finding the right provider. They made the whole experience a positive one!

My wife called and told them specifically that my daughter has United healthcare medicaid, when we arrive for our appontment, the girl at the desk looked at our insurance card and said, "thats not insurance thats medicare". First of all its medicaid not medicare and thats insurance! Second, do better with your inital screening so I dont waste my $5+ a gallon diesel driving over there just to find out you dont take medicaid (which is indeed insurance).

I have ALWAYS received good care at Rio Mimbres Family Dental. The office staff are friendly & the hygienists have always taken good care of me & are gentle with cleaning my teeth. Dr. Barba is very nice as well. She is the one who cleaned my teeth the last time I was in & she was very thorough and gentle also. Any questions I had about my teeth, she was very attentive and took the time to answer my questions & concerns. I highly recommend them!!

Everyone was really nice, and actually did great job cleaning my teeth but the Dr explained what our next apt was going to cover & desk explained what my insurance covered I walked out feeling better than from other dentists

My first appointment "I had a great experience at Rio Family Dental! The front desk staff was friendly and very efficient, and the office was clean. Dr. Barba was incredibly thorough, explaining my treatment options in detail without making me feel rushed. The Dental assistant was very friendly, and also gentle when doing the X-rays. All the staff there really made this a comfortable visit I had originally given 5 stars. I had to come back and change that due to the terrible dental work. I went in for the follow up appointments and all the staff was still very friendly and quick to call me back into the exam room. The dental assistant is always very nice and goes out of her way to make sure I was comfortable. I had 2 follow up appointments for fillings and one for a cleaning. The first appointment for the fillings on a Wednesday Dr Barba came in said hi and didn’t speak much. I thought okay everyone is entitled to a rough day or since I was the 1st appointment of the day, maybe it’s a morning thing. I left the office with so much pain. At first I was thinking it was soreness and would go away. I still went back on the following week for the next filling appointment and told her about the pain. She drilled it down a bunch and filled the other side. This time I left the office with even worse pain! I still had pain in the other filling and now have Burns and blisters from the burns all over my lips, inside cheek and around my mouth. During the fillings somehow I was burned so bad that when I got into my car several of the burns had busted and popped. I now have worse pain than when I came in. The following day I had an appointment with Mona the hygienist and she was amazing! Very friendly and very thorough. Unfortunately she was not able to clean my teeth due to so many blisters caused by the burns inside my cheek, on my lips and around my mouth from the dental work the day before. I told her about the pain in my tooth and now also having pain in the other tooth that was filled the day before when I got all the burns. She took pictures and had Dr Barba come exam then. Dr. Barba drilled down the filling from the day before and put some desensitizer on the first filling and scheduled me to go back the next week once my burns heal so she can redo the filling. I couldn’t stand the pain and haven’t been able to eat in 10 days now! Today is Friday and I called one of the Family dental offices in Las Cruces to get help before the weekend. They told me to come in right away so my husband drive me to Cruces and the dentist that examined me explains that she has to take out ALL the fillings that were done BY Dr. Barba and redo them. The root is exposed in some areas that is why I am having so much pain when I breath through my mouth. The pain to eat anything is unbearable. Today the dentist from Las Cruces had to call in antibiotics and a treatment for the burns. I am scheduled to go back to get the fillings all removed and redone. I understand everyone has to start somewhere but this is horrible work. I don’t recommend this office to anyone. Or at least until she has more practice or a supervising experienced dentist.
