I had such a positive experience with Dr Anu and Jubilee at my recent appointment. I had not met either before, but they were so welcoming. The office was clearly busy, but I felt as if my concerns mattered and was not rushed. Jubilee greeted me in the room, was thorough in her questions, and very personable. Dr Anu was professional, knowledgeable, kind and made me feel less anxious. She explained things using photographs to support my understanding. She truly cares about her patients.

I highly recommend Dr. Matthew Cantner and the team at River Valley Periodontics & Implant Dentistry.
I have been a patient of Dr. Cantner's for several years, beginning with a dental implant procedure that was successful and served me well for more than three years. Throughout that time, Dr. Cantner and his staff have consistently been professional, knowledgeable, and caring.
What stands out most is their responsiveness during unexpected situations. When I fractured a tooth due to severe grinding, Dr. Cantner quickly rebuilt the tooth and created an excellent custom night guard to help prevent future damage.
More recently, I experienced a painful implant-related complication that required emergency treatment. Dr. Cantner responded immediately, performed the implant extraction and bone grafting procedure, and guided me through a difficult recovery. He personally responded to messages during evenings and over a holiday weekend to ensure my pain was managed appropriately and that I was healing well.
The entire staff was equally supportive, checking in regularly and making sure I felt cared for throughout the process. Their compassion, professionalism, and attention to detail made a stressful situation much easier to navigate.
Dr. Cantner combines exceptional clinical expertise with genuine concern for his patients. I am grateful for the care I have received and look forward to returning for my implant restoration once healing is complete.
I would highly recommend Dr. Cantner and River Valley Periodontics & Implant Dentistry to anyone seeking outstanding periodontal and implant care.

This appt was my last step related to the tooth extraction and implant prior to the crown being attached in a few weeks by my regular dentist.
As always Dr Kanter did a great job. He and his assistant Dawn had great teamwork and coordination, all the while making sure I was fine during the 30 minute procedure.
I unfortunately, have other teeth that are going to be need to be addressed, but I have confidence and some peace of mind that River Valley will take excellent care of my dental health needs.

Very well run operation. Doctor was very patient and compassionate. There was no worries about anything. Her and Amy were both spectacular. Although it took 2 hours it felt like at 1 hour. Well this is my update. I had gone back to have my stitches removed. I was informed that the surgeon who did the work is no longer there. Her and Amy were a wonderful team and I really don't like switching out doctors like that but it is what it is. As I left she said I had a balance. I told her no I paid it off before I left on my last visit. Well there was some sort of mistake made and I owe now $300. I do not like surprises whatsoever! If I left and we were in agreement that I am now debt free from this organization I believe it. Nothing despises me more than when I get surprises like that. My last dentist did the same thing but there was insurance involved so I really couldn't argue although I stopped using them right away! And I am really considered of leaving this practice too. Can they keep their doctors or surgeons? Is the bookkeeper or accounting not really all on the ball? That's a hard hit for a person who has no insurance and is retired. I was very disappointed in that mistake. But I still owe them $300 now. I'm looking for a good surgeon who can finish my work. I have two implants coming and two teeth coming out. Any suggestions I'm in the East Haven area.

Maybe I just got lucky, but I have had only slight discomfort after an implant removal. I’m impressed! Also very nice people in this team!
