He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Oklahoma in 2005 and completed his specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the same institution. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, and the New Mexico Dental Association. He holds hospital privileges at the Presbyterian Hospital System and select Lovelace Hospitals in Albuquerque.
