I have a MAJOR fear of Dentist's...I shake, I cry...never once did anyone make me feel ashamed about it. Everyone I came in contact with from the front desk gals, the hygienist, and the Dentist herself, they all were so very nice and helpful. Even the nice gal who helped me schedule my upcoming appointments...everyone was great. I can't say that I felt great when I left but having a team who is patient and understanding to past traumatic experiences gave me more piece of mind for when I have to return. With that said, thank you ...thank you all for helping make my experience as smooth and comfortable as possible. I truly can't tell you how grateful I am.
I WILL be recommending Saving Smiles to all I know.

Staff are amazing! I have dental anxiety. My hygienist would allow breaks if needed and helps ease my anxiety as much as possible. When I first starting going to saving smiles I was pregnant and needed some dental work. Due to my pregnancy I decided to postpone the dental work til I was postpartum and staff were very understanding of that! Great service all around!

I had a wonderful experience at Saving Smiles Dentistry. I recently had my very first crown and two fillings done, and I was honestly nervous going into the appointments. The entire team was incredibly kind, patient, and reassuring throughout the process.
They took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all of my questions, and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. The procedures went much more smoothly than I expected, and I truly appreciated the gentle care and professionalism shown by everyone in the office.
I’m very grateful for such a positive first experience with dental work and would highly recommend Saving Smiles Dentistry to anyone looking for compassionate and high-quality care.

I thought I filled this out once but will again… I was very impressed with your business. The hygienist was fabulous and I love the fact that your admin area helps to send additional dental insurance for me… That is huge, and that’s why I chose you. Have neglected going to a dentist for a long time due to severe dental anxiety. Was happy to see Saving Smiles now has a female dentist which has helped me a lot. I am very happy with the look and feel of my new crown. If you struggle with dental anxiety try Dr. Ensrude at Saving Smiles Dentistry. Her dental assistant/hygienist Asher is also very nice.

About Saving Smiles Dentistry
Saving Smiles Dentistry is a full-service, family-friendly dental practice serving the Fargo, Moorhead, and West Fargo community since 2011. The office is located in South Fargo at 5285 42nd Street South, just off Interstate 29 near the intersection of 52nd Avenue and 42nd Street, in a facility the practice built in 2022. For patients with damaged or missing teeth, the team offers dental implants, bridges, complete and partial dentures, and All-on-4, also called Teeth in a Day, full-arch treatment. General and family services include routine cleanings and exams, X-rays, fillings, extractions, root canals, crowns, and sport and night mouth guards, with nitrous oxide available. Cosmetic options include bonding, veneers, crowns, and professional whitening.
The practice describes its approach as creating a relaxing environment where the team takes time to help patients understand their dental health and answer questions. Following a comprehensive exam, the doctors define a treatment plan to fit each patient's life and budget, and even extensive cases can be staged out over time. For patients without dental insurance, the in-house Saving Smiles Program offers a 15 percent discount on preventive and restorative care for a low annual fee, and the office also accepts CareCredit financing. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and patients can call or text (701) 237-4297 to schedule.
Meet the Doctors
The clinical team at Saving Smiles Dentistry includes Dr. James Johnson, Dr. Kenneth Bartholomew (known to patients as Dr. Kenny), and Dr. Ensrude. Dr. Johnson grew up in Fargo, graduated from Concordia College and the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, and provides general and cosmetic dentistry as well as full mouth rehabilitations. Dr. Bartholomew earned his bachelor's degree at Creighton University and his dental degree at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry; he joined the practice as an associate in 2019 and became a partner in late 2021. Dr. Ensrude, who joined the practice in August 2023, is a North Dakota State University graduate who earned her dental degree at Creighton University School of Dentistry. All three are members of the American Dental Association, the North Dakota Dental Association, and the Southeast District Dental Society.
