The entire office staff I dealt with were very professional, caring, and knowledgeable. I was so comfortable before, during, and after my procedure; what a pleasant experience! The office is modern and extremely clean. I would recommend Shasta Periodontal Associates to anyone in need of periodonal procedures.

Shasta Periodontal Associates is a periodontal specialty practice at 2411 Hartnell Avenue, Suite A, in Redding, California. The practice focuses on caring for the bone and gum tissue that support the teeth and on the placement of dental implants. According to its website, dental implants use titanium supports that are surgically fused with the jawbone to anchor natural-looking replacement teeth, and they can be used to replace a single tooth, multiple teeth, or as an alternative to dentures or in conjunction with a bridge. The office also offers 3D imaging.
Beyond implants, the practice provides soft tissue grafting, osseous surgery, bone grafting and guided tissue regeneration, crown lengthening, scaling and root planing, periodontal maintenance, and oral pathology evaluation. Most patients arrive by referral from their general dentist, but the practice notes that a referral is not required and new patients are welcome to call directly. Dr. Castro served as a Dental Officer in the United States Navy until 2012, began helping at Shasta Periodontal Associates in December 2019, and became managing partner in March 2021. The practice also lists Steven D. Borchers, D.D.S., a Redding native who completed his periodontal residency at Oregon Health Sciences University in 1991 and founded the practice. Dr. Borchers retired from performing periodontal surgery in 2015 but continues to help oversee post-operative and hygiene appointments.
