Wow! My just son let me know that smile makers "recommended" a deep cleaning. To me that means you need it, BUT its up to you as the patient to decide. He called in to schedule a regular cleaning because that's what his insurance covers. Michael, the so called Manager, told him that he had to get the deep cleaning or he wouldn't be seen again. I called and said I had a general question.... I asked if I was told that a deep cleaning was recommended, was I FORCED to get the deep cleaning instead of a regular cleaning? They did ask if I was a patient, and I am....he proceeded to tell me that I would have to get the deep cleaning or go elsewhere. That's crazy, no other dentist office has done this. Another thing is, I never told Michael who I was, and even if I did....his response should have been " I am not able to disclose another patients information." instead, he violated privacy and told me word for word about their conversation, and used my son's name! Okay, one last rant....I am also a patient but I read in the bad reviews that if they tell one family member to look for a new dentist, the whole family is apparently banned! Read the bad reviews before considering this place. I honestly love the dentist, he is great, but this isn't right.

My name is Carson, and I was a patient at Smile Makers. After my exam, I was told I needed a deep cleaning that would cost approximately $270. I explained that I could not afford it and asked if I could instead receive the routine cleaning covered by my Delta Dental insurance. I asked multiple times, but I was told I could not receive a standard cleaning and that I would not be seen unless I agreed to the deep cleaning. No affordable alternatives or payment options were offered. Unfortunately, my experience with the staff was also very negative. I found the front desk staff to be dismissive and rude, and when I was transferred to Michael, I still received no helpful explanation or solution despite repeatedly explaining that I had no money to pay for the procedure. The most concerning part of my experience happened afterward. My mother called the office without identifying herself as my mother or providing any information about me. Despite that, Michael disclosed my name and discussed the conversation I had just had with the office. I believe my personal health information should never have been disclosed to an unidentified caller. Because of my experience with both the customer service and the handling of my personal information, I will never return to this office. I am proceeding with filing a privacy complaint and filing a complaint with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights so the incident can be investigated. I hope Smile Makers improves both its customer service and its handling of patient privacy so other patients do not have a similar experience.

Same thing for me too. Front staff so rude. Also my husband had same exam and X-ray done twice. They weren’t supposed to do that on second visit. Now my insurance won’t cover second visit. They said they could fix his front chipped tooth but only wanted to do X-Ray’s (twice same tooth) and cleaning. Again when we didn’t confirm third appointment, lady didn’t care. She was rude. Doctors should know her attitude is causing clients NOT to book appointments.

VERY rude! I have no idea how good the dentist is because the staff that answers the phone is so rude. Alex (female) answered the phone, I'm new to the area and looking for a dentist. She was asking me some questions and I was asking her questions, she seemed frustrated with me, so I said that I wasn't from the area and I was just confused because my dentist never asked me these questions and she said "then maybe you should find another dentist" and hung up. I still can't believe it! If you have any questions, don't come to this office, you'll piss them off and they'll tell you to go elsewhere. They clearly have enough business and don't need anymore!

Staff was very kind & accommodating. Dr Limhengco & Dr. Winston are amazing. Both are very aware when patients experience any type of discomfort & very responsive making the experience enjoyable rather than dreadful. I was provided a blanket and was able to listen to my air pods while my procedure was completed. My experiences with this office has always been great. Very fast and always professional. More than one location throughout northern CA making it easy to get an appt as well. Highly recommend!
