Dr. La Rosa and her entire team are fabulous. I’ve been nervous about gum grafting that I knew I needed to get done. I finally went to Sound Surgical Arts for a consult. This team is so professional, I knew I was in the best of hands. They helped me feel completely calm during it, did a beautiful job, and 2 days post-op, no pain. Very grateful I could have access to this level of care.

Dr. La Rosa put me totally at ease right away. He explained the gum graft perfectly, so I understood everything. His staff was amazing, always helpful, and informative, answering all my questions. Getting ready for surgery was so calming. They made sure I was comfortable and knew what to expect. After the surgery, they were just as great, giving me all the support I needed to heal properly. They really went above and beyond. Thank you!!!

I would recommend Sound Surgical Arts to anyone needing oral surgery. Dr Manuel La Rosa has been amazing and my procedure went very smoothly. The staff were very compassionate and made sure I was comfortable during my procedure. I had 4 extractions and bone grafts and I am recovering well and when I needed some questions answered about my recovery the staff made sure my concerns were addressed. Thank you for your wonderful care and compassion. Renee Bowman

Amazing staff from beginning to end. I saw Dr. Manuel La Rosa for a surgical implant using IV sedation. I don't remember anything other than they were talking and I started laughing. I had absolutely no pain during or after the procedure and I needed gum grafting which meant removing tissue from the roof of my mouth. No pain! I only took ibuprofen and Tylenol, and iced every hour for 20 minutes. I would highly recommend this office for all of your oral surgery. The only thing I have to say is when you book your appt make really sure it's going to work for you because if you need to cancel or reschedule and you don't give 5 days notice and I learned the hard way..this does NOT include weekends or holidays they will want to charge you! They wanted almost $500 for me to change my appt date. Even though it was a hardship I kept the original appt.

She provided invaluable advice on healthy diet and effective gum care techniques, leaving me confident in my oral health journey. Thank you!

About Sound Surgical Arts

Sound Surgical Arts is a specialty practice that brings oral and maxillofacial surgery and periodontics together under one roof, with offices in Gig Harbor, Tacoma and Vashon Island serving the Puget Sound area. The Gig Harbor office at 2727 Hollycroft Street, Suite 270 houses two practices working side by side: Sound Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Sound Implant and Periodontics. Dental implants are a core part of what the practice does, including All-on-4 treatment, extractions with site preservation, bone grafting, ridge augmentation, sinus lifts and soft tissue grafting to prepare the jaw for implant placement. The practice describes implant care as a team effort: its surgeons place the implants and handle any extractions or grafting, while the patient's own restorative dentist makes the final crown or prosthesis.

Beyond implants, the practice offers wisdom teeth removal, tooth extractions, exposure of impacted canines, oral pathology exams, facial trauma and reconstructive surgery, treatment for gum disease, gum grafting, crown lengthening, cosmetic gum procedures, and treatment for snoring and obstructive sleep apnea. The site notes that patients have access to digital 2D imaging and cone beam computed tomography, which produces three dimensional images for planning, and that the surgical team is trained to provide general anesthesia and intravenous sedation for patient comfort. The practice emphasizes conservative treatment recommendations, limiting surgery to where it is truly needed, and coordinates care with each patient's family dentist, orthodontist and physician as appropriate. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
