I have to share this because I know I’m not the only one who puts off going to the dentist. It had been WAY too long since my last dentist appointment, and walking into Southern Oaks Family Dental Care I was honestly pretty nervous.
I was first greeted by Avery who had a great personality! She did my X-rays and explained everything she was doing along the way, which I really appreciated. Avery truly set the tone for the entire visit, and I’m so grateful she did. The hygienist, Kaitlyn, walked me through every step before we started, explained what she was doing, and constantly checked to make sure I was comfortable. I had a lot of questions and every single one was answered patiently and clearly. Nothing felt rushed. Nothing felt brushed off. Dr. Cowen took time to explain my dental health in a way that actually made sense. He showed me what was going on, talked through options, and made sure I understood everything before moving forward.
By the time I left, I couldn’t believe I had been so nervous. I actually felt relieved and proud of myself for going. More importantly, I felt confident that I had found my new dental home. If you’ve been putting off an appointment like I was, let this be your sign. Southern Oaks Family Dental Care truly made what could have been a stressful visit into such a positive experience. I’m so grateful for their kindness, professionalism, and care.

Been coming here since about 2022. Dr. Cowen and staff are the best! They are kind, courteous, helpful, and overall excellent at their jobs. The care I receive is always exceptional. Today, Dr. Cowen put in an implant. They numbed me up, tested my sensitivity, numbed me some more, then went work. I didn’t feel a thing, which was great. I’ll go back in about 3 months and get scanned for my crown.

Dr. Cowen and the team at Southern Oaks are amazing. From being greeted with a smiling face and easy check in to great explanation of the work needed. They are always flexible with scheduling and will work you in for ASAP for an emergency. They work great with kids and even adults who may have dental anxiety. The Southern Oaks Family Dental team truly go above and beyond for you. I will continue to use and highly recommend anyone looking for new or needing dental work to give them a call.

The professionalism and kindness displayed by the staff were exceptional. Despite the busyness, everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. This was my first time visiting this dentist office , and I’m proud to say that my son and I now have a new dentist’s office. Thank you so much!

I had the best experience at Southern Oaks! The entire staff was welcoming and professional from start to finish. Hygienist Kaitlyn was kind, gentle, and very thorough, taking the time to explain everything and making me feel completely comfortable. Dental assistant Avery was just as wonderful—friendly, attentive, and supportive throughout the visit. The dentist was also great, very knowledgeable and reassuring, and made the appointment feel easy and stress-free. The office is clean, modern, and runs smoothly. I truly felt cared for and highly recommend Southern Oaks!
