I had a great experience with Dr. Wilson and her team. After a disappointing experience with another periodontist in town, I was relieved to find someone who truly listens. Dr Wilson explained the entire process clearly and made sure I was comfortable throughout the procedure. Her assistant was also very kind and attentive. What really impressed me was the follow up call that evening to check on me and ensure I wasn’t hawing any complications. Highly recommended Dr. Wilson for anyone needing periodontal care!

Southwind Periodontics & Dental Implants, P.A., formerly Edwards & Wilson Periodontics, P.A., has been serving the Lawrence community and surrounding areas for over twenty years from its office at 4830 Quail Crest Place. The practice also has a Topeka location, which opened in 2015 and moved into a new building in August 2020. The doctors are board certified specialists in periodontics who limit their practice to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of periodontal (gum) disease, oral medicine and dental implants. Their stated goal is to help patients achieve and sustain healthy support for their teeth and implants for a lifetime.
For patients considering dental implants, the practice describes an implant as an artificial tooth root placed into the jaw to hold a replacement tooth or bridge. Implants can replace one or more teeth without affecting neighboring teeth, support a bridge in place of a removable partial denture, or help secure a denture so it feels more comfortable. The practice focuses on conservative treatment of gum disease and also offers regenerative (rebuilding) procedures to replace lost bone and tissue support, along with cosmetic periodontal procedures.
