I have been seeing Dr Shumway for over 6 years now and have enjoyed every experience! He is very intentional with both my oral health and personal life and makes me feel very at ease every time I’m here. Dental appointments have always made me very anxious, but the whole staff here is amazing. Tiffany up front is so kind and I typically get the pleasure of Joanna taking care of my cleaning, every time I feel like I’m hanging out with a friend for an hour. We have been so happy here and I highly recommend Dr Shumway’s office to everyone I know!

I can’t say enough about Spokane Family Smiles! They are incredible and take such great care of me and all my dental needs. I have a lot of dental anxiety, and it took me years to find an office where I felt comfortable. I can finally say I’ve found my dental home.
I’ve been coming here for a year and a half, and I have so many wonderful things to say. From Tiffany’s warm and friendly greeting at the front desk—she always takes care of the behind-the-scenes details that are so important—to Dawn and Johanna, the hygienists, who are consistently patient and thorough in explaining everything.
Dr. Shumway is also incredibly kind and patient, and he truly takes his time with each visit. I know there are many other patients in the office, but he never seems rushed and always makes me feel like I’m his only patient in that moment.
This office is the best. I would absolutely recommend it to all of my family and friends. The staff provides exceptional service—just yesterday, I had an intense procedure done, and I felt so well cared for throughout the entire experience.

Spokane Family Smiles is a great place for dental care. Most of my immediate family goes there. Dr. Shumway has performed crowns, implants, fillings, and gives honest assessments of procedures which need to be done or just something to watch for. The staff is always kind and professional. For bi-annual cleanings Joanna is wonderful and does an excellent job and gets nothing but praise from myself and other family members. Keep up the great work.

I 100% recommend Spokane Family Smiles. I have pretty bad anxiety about dental visits, but they were amazing. The staff was kind, patient, and really took the time to make me feel comfortable throughout the entire appointment. They explained everything clearly and never made me feel rushed or judged. It made a huge difference, and I’m so grateful for the positive experience. Definitely a great place if you get nervous about going to the dentist!

I have major dental anxiety and Joanna and Dr. were both amazing at moving at my pace and comfort level and answering any questions I had. Everyone really made me feel at ease and they worked with me so that I could get everything taken care of with the least amount of discomfort. Would definitely recommend!!
