I had an excellent experience at Starr General Dentistry. Valentina, my dental hygienist was incredibly kind, gentle, and professional, and she made me feel comfortable from the moment I sat in the chair. She took the time to explain everything and gave helpful tips for maintaining my dental health at home. The cleaning was thorough yet painless. Dr. Martin was also great during the exam very professional, friendly, and reassuring. Overall, this was the best dental experience I鈥檝e had, and I highly recommend Starr General Dentistry!

I've recently switched from another dentist and am so happy I did! I was referred to Starr Dentistry by a friend and have been very impressed by Dr. Martin Starr's knowledge and professionalism. I've also recently had a teeth cleaning session with Valentina and she did a fantastic job! She was detailed, thorough and very careful around a sensitive area. I would not hesitate to recommend Starr Dentistry in the future.

Wonderful staff. Dr. Martin Starr was excellent. Got me scheduled and taken care of very quickly. Was not expecting to be so comfortable with a root canal. Very affordable as well, and surprisingly up-front with the costs. A breath of fresh air from the typical anxiety around medical expenses. Highly recommend.

If you moved into Waco and you are worried about having lost your beloved dentist, there is good news. Starr is quite excellent. A very lovely office and extremely friendly staff with a good sense of humor. They will listen to your story and take care of you. Very happy and fortunate to have found them. We lost a great dentist and now have found a great one. The Starr鈥檚 have aligned!

Starr General Dentistry is a family dental practice at 6400 Cobbs Drive, Suite 500 in Waco, Texas, founded by Dr. Kent Starr in 1974 and led today by his sons, Dr. Taylor Starr and Dr. Martin Starr. The practice serves families across Waco and McLennan County and describes its approach as honest, conservative care built on long-term relationships. Services range from routine cleanings and pediatric dentistry to fillings, crowns, bridges, dentures, root canal treatment, periodontal care, extractions, wisdom teeth, cosmetic dentistry, and full mouth reconstruction, with nitrous oxide and oral sedation available for anxious patients.
For patients considering tooth replacement, the practice provides complete implant care in its Waco office, including both surgical placement and the final restoration. Options include single dental implants, implant-supported bridges, and full-arch solutions such as implant-supported dentures (typically anchored by four to six implants) and implant-retained dentures that snap onto two or more implants and can be removed for cleaning. For qualifying patients, the doctors may be able to remove all remaining teeth and place a temporary full arch on the same day. Bone grafting is also offered. The office uses a 3Shape Trios digital scanner in place of traditional impression trays and a cone beam CT scanner for three-dimensional implant planning. The practice accepts most major dental insurance plans, offers an in-house reduced-fee plan and CareCredit financing, and is open Monday through Thursday 8am to 5pm and Friday 8am to 3pm.
Meet the Doctors
Starr General Dentistry is led by brothers Dr. Taylor M. Starr, DDS, and Dr. Martin A. Starr, DDS, who continue the practice their father, Dr. Kent Starr, founded in 1974. Both earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Baylor University and their Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Taylor Starr graduated from dental school magna cum laude in 2004, completed a dental implant preceptorship after dental school, has pursued hundreds of hours of dental implant continuing education, and is a past president of the Central Texas Dental Society. Dr. Martin Starr graduated in 2006, received an Award for Excellence in Clinical Dentistry, has served as a director of the Central Texas Dental Society, and chaired the Texas Mission of Mercy Waco event in 2010. Both doctors bring advanced training in dental implants, full mouth restorations, and veneers.
