I needed to have a broken wisdom tooth removed. I found several oral surgeons through my dental insurance provider, and actually used google reviews to decide I’d go with Dr Wenk. At my initial meeting, he looked at the X-ray and advised I should have my 3 remaining wisdom teeth removed due to their condition. I had the teeth removed yesterday. I was taken back on time, had everything explained thoroughly, got a little shot in the IV to put me under, and I was out the door in roughly 45 minutes. I got a follow up call from his office that afternoon. No pain yesterday or today. I have to add that his entire staff is exceptional. If you need an oral surgeon , I highly recommend Dr Wenk.

The staff was very kind and friendly, creating a pleasant experience the moment I walked in the door. Dr. Wink is fantastic at explaining what the wisdom teeth removal would be like and kindly answered all of my questions. I couldn’t ask for a better experience

Dr.Wenk is the best in his field, bar none! I recently got all four of my wisdom teeth removed, 3 of which being impacted, and had an incredible experience. Dr.Wenk made me feel safe, respected, and relieved all of my fears around my surgery. Dr.Wenk was friendly and personable while maintaining a high level of professionalism- he truly cares about his patients and his work! I needed to move up my surgery in order to be ready for going back to school, and he answered his phone while the office was closed, made the change, and even brought his team in early to accommodate me. My healing has gone perfectly with low pain and no issues at all. Dr.Wenk’s team were all absolutely wonderful as well from the front desk team, to his dental assistants. I highly recommend and could not be more grateful!

Impeccable experience. Had been traumatized by another surgeon and thankfully Dr Wenk listened to my concerns, provided me options, and went above the call of his responsibility to make me feel comfortable. The day of the procedure was perfect! Being out of network, his team assisted granularly on the paperwork. The assistant was extremely kind and Dr Wenk extracted my wisdom teeth with precision as if God was guiding his hands.
I overwhelmingly recommend Dr Wenk and the team as a whole of suncoast oral surgery. Even if out of network, it is completely worth your time to do your homework and give them a visit. Eternally grateful

Dr. Scott Wenk is truly an exceptional oral surgeon with an extensive knowledge base and an excellent staff ready to help. Dr. Wenk's office was able to see me immediately, unlike other offices, and address my issues within days and at a great out-of-pocket price. I would HIGHLY recommend Suncoast Oral Surgery and Dr. Wenk....he and his staff are really the best in town.

About Suncoast Oral Surgery Specialist
Suncoast Oral Surgery Specialists is an oral and maxillofacial surgery practice located at 7005 South Tamiami Trail in Sarasota, Florida, with the office entrance on Bispham Road. The practice is led by board certified oral surgeon Dr. Scott Wenk, who places dental implants for everything from a single missing tooth to full arch tooth replacement for patients missing all of their upper or lower teeth. Options include implant supported overdentures, zygomatic implants for patients with significant upper jaw bone loss, and Teeth in an Hour immediate tooth replacement. The practice also performs the bone grafting procedures that often prepare the jaw for implants, including sinus lifts, ridge augmentation, and socket preservation.
Beyond implant care, the office treats wisdom teeth, tooth extractions, corrective jaw surgery, facial trauma, oral pathology, and impacted canine teeth, and uses 3D imaging for surgical planning. Intravenous sedation is offered in the office so that anxious patients can be treated safely and comfortably, and Dr. Wenk holds additional credentials in anesthesia. The practice sees patients Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, serving Sarasota and the surrounding Gulf Coast communities.
Meet the Doctors
Dr. Scott Wenk, DDS, MD is the oral and maxillofacial surgeon at Suncoast Oral Surgery Specialists. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Wenk earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Richmond, his dental degree from the Medical College of Virginia, and his medical degree from the University of Florida, where he also completed a general surgery internship and his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery. He is a Diplomate of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology and a Fellow of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, and his practice focuses on wisdom teeth, dental implants, corrective jaw surgery, facial trauma, and oral pathology.
