What an excellent dental practice! Everything from their prompt communication about the appt to the convenient location and welcoming office atmosphere is outstanding. Sarah, the hygienist I saw, was incredibly gentle, thorough, knowledgeable, and had an excellent bedside manner. Dr. Josh Gordon is warm, personal and has a very clear methodology about reviewing oral health, and great suggestions to get results.
Completing their new patient documents was quick and straightforward. They use an efficient intake tool to assess your dental condition with an initial review before X-rays.
It's a fantastic team and environment. Oh and the best part, my teeth have never looked better after that cleaning!

I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Gordon and his staff. I was in today to start my full dental implants, and coming from a terrible prior dental experience, I was as nervous as could be. Dr. Gordon changed my fear with this one 5 hour appointment today. If I could leave 100 stars I would. Thank you, Dr. Gordon and team, for changing my life. Even though this is just the first step, and is the temporary, I already have my confidence back.
The caring, and compassionate nature of the entire staff is something you do not see anymore. You have made not only a friend, but a life long supporter with me. The rest of my family plans switching to your office too.
Thank you again. I never thought I would say this, but I actually look forward to the next visit.

I was served by Dr. Sweet to replace a crown. Very professional. The second person was Amy, the hygienist , who treats me like family and does careful and meticulous work. The third is a younger dentist whose name escapes me, but is absolutely polite and professional. All staff treats me with kindness

Came in for a second opinion and the staff was very friendly. Dr. Gordon went through my information, took X-rays, looked everything over, and gave me up front and honest information. He helped convince me to stay on my current treatment plan rather than sell me something he didn't think I needed.
10/10 would recommend.

Swett Dentistry is a family dental practice that has served Charlottesville, Virginia since 1996, offering comprehensive care under one roof, from routine cleanings and teeth whitening to Invisalign clear aligners, dental implants, and emergency dental services. For patients missing one or more teeth, the practice describes dental implants as an ideal tooth restoration, a metal post surgically positioned into the jaw with a replacement tooth attached once the surrounding bone has healed. The practice notes that implants are stronger than natural teeth, generally last 10 to 20 years, and do not depend on neighboring teeth for support the way bridgework does.
The office is located at 900 Rio East Court, Suite B, right off Rio Road East, about ten minutes from downtown Charlottesville and twelve minutes from the University of Virginia, with free parking out front and wheelchair accessibility. Meet the Doctors
The practice's clinical team includes four dentists. Dr. David Swett, Doctor of Dental Surgery, is a co-founder who has practiced in Charlottesville since 1996, is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, and is known for his restorative work. Dr. Rebecca Swett, Doctor of Dental Surgery, is a co-founder recognized by Align Technology as a Gold Invisalign Provider. Dr. Joshua Gordon, Doctor of Dental Surgery, is a University of Virginia alumnus and Virginia Commonwealth University dental graduate who joined the practice in 2024 and is now its owner. Dr. Lauren Stump, Doctor of Dental Surgery, is an associate dentist with the practice since 2014 who particularly enjoys esthetic dentistry and clear aligner therapy.
