Highly recommend!!! This office is truly amazing and all the staff are so polite and comforting. I've needed my lower wisdom teeth removed for a very long time, but kept putting it off out of fear. I have really bad anxiety and can get emotional due to bad past dental/medical experiences. Im so thankful to have been referred to this office. I had my consult with Lisa and she was wonderful, very comforting and understanding, answered any questions/concerns I had, made me feel seen and heard, not just a nameless patient. I left this office ready and relieved to be able to have surgery and feel safe. I had my oral surgery yesterday and the entire process went great, I was nervous of course, but all the staff for the procedure were so nice. So again, I highly recommend Dr. Scarborough and his team.

I had a wisdom tooth extraction consultation with them over 6 months ago, and had an overall very unprofessional experience with them. On the day of the consultation, I paid $120 for an X-ray, had said X-ray, waited a long period of time, met with the Doctor for a total of 3 minutes (he did not even look inside my mouth and hardly glanced at the X-rays - for reference I have 2 wisdom teeth that are very impacted and I was told by multiple dentists requires a coronectomy, something a doctor should absolutely need to see) , and was rushed out and quoted me random costs from $3K-$9K for the procedure after insurance (which I mentioned to a worker while asking about the bill that is discussed in the next paragraph, and she said that I made up the $9K amount??? Just a very unprofessional staff) . I obviously told them no thank you, as I left feeling very scammed.
Over 6 months later, I received a random letter in the mail stating that I owe them a random $507.
Turns out they gave me a CT scan at the same time as the Pan X-ray that I paid $120. I was NOT notified of this CT scan nor did I consent to it or sign any paperwork for it. If they had told me, I would have said No because I know that my insurance doesn’t cover it in full until next year 2026. I tried disputing it but unfortunately there was nothing I could do. So they took $507 from me. The first person I spoke to over the phone about it was extremely unprofessional and called ME a “scammer” because I had been to/called many oral surgeons about this procedure and gotten multiple quotes… but that’s just the experience of having basic bad insurance coverage in America!!! They were overall very combative and unprofessional staff. I will be reporting them to the American Dental Association for unfair business practices and executing a CT scan without patient consent.
I would recommend to avoid them at all costs, a very scammy experience and I would trust them nowhere near my mouth.

The doctor himself is great I am sure, however I only spoke with him once very briefly. A few of the assistants that are in charge of everything else, including all post op visits, are very condescending and do not seem to have the patients health in mind.
I recently had 5 teeth removed. 4 on one day and the 5th less than a week later. One of the 4 teeth I had removed first was left with a shard of bone in its place. I inquired about it in my first post op visit and was told it was a piece of stitching and that it would dissolve on its own. I left believing that.
A week and a half later after my other stitches had dissolved this debris was left in my mouth still very hard and sharp. I called again expressing my concern and discomfort and scheduled another post op.
This time they told me there was nothing there and sent me home.
This happened over the next few weeks for every post op appointment I made because I could see it in my own mirror. My husband could see it. Yet these women tried to convince me I was imagining it and would not do anything for me.
They spent weeks gaslighting me and making me feel crazy.
Last night I asked my husband to pull on it and see if it would come out. A few minutes of gentle tugging with some hemostats dislodged a small shard of what we believe is part of my tooth. He thinks more is still stuck inside. I imminently felt tremendous relief as this fragment was yanked out of my gums.
I'm sure the doctor would have helped and taken responsibility for this had he known. But we believe my discomfort, pain, and concerns were never passed along to him over the last month and a half of my weekly appointments at his office.
The other pains and discomfort I'm left experiencing still are a little concerning but since those were dismissed by the assistants as well I cannot take it lightly until I see another specialist. Which I have now made an appointment for.
Again Doctor himself is probably great, but the rest of the staff in the back leaves quite a lot to be desired.

About The Institute of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
The Institute of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Pooler, Georgia is an oral and maxillofacial surgery practice that offers dental implant placement as part of a broader range of surgical services. The practice also provides bone grafting, wisdom teeth removal, corrective jaw surgery, and treatment for oral pathology and TMJ disorders, serving patients in Pooler, Savannah, Richmond Hill, Garden City, and Port Wentworth.
For patients considering dental implants, the practice describes the process in terms of replacing both the root and the visible crown of a natural tooth, and offers bone grafting when the jawbone needs additional support before implant placement. Because implant care is one part of a wider oral surgery practice, patients can expect the same surgical team that handles extractions, jaw surgery, and other procedures to also manage their implant treatment.
