I think this was one of the best medical experiences I’ve ever had. It’s such a crazy thing to say for a wisdom tooth removal but it really was. I’m half Turkish, and trust me, my standards for medical care are really high. One issue I’ve always had since moving to the U.S. is how poor both medical and dental care can be here. After 10 years of living in NOVA and visiting plenty of dentists and clinics, I can say this place is on another level.
Earlier this week, I had to get my wisdom teeth out. After one failed extraction and poor management at my old clinic, I knew I had to find a new place. I’d been delaying this for over two years, and after that horrible, traumatic experience, finding The International Center for TMJ and Jaw Surgery honestly felt like a blessing.
It’s a small clinic, but beautifully renovated with great technology and, most importantly, welcoming doctors and staff. From brochures to goody bags, and a clear, well-educated walk-through of the process, everything went smoothly. I had surgery this morning and can’t believe I’m sitting here writing this review with no pain, no complications, and genuine relief. They even gave me free ice cream afterwards.
What impressed me the most was the care after surgery. The doctor personally checked in on me after business hours to see how I was doing. That kind of treatment is rare here, and I honestly wish this was the standard across the U.S.
I’ll definitely be bringing my loved ones here for their future wisdom extractions.

Dr Hoffman and team were outstanding. They made sure my child was comfortable. We all know toddlers hate getting their teeth cleaned!!! We ended being there longer than expected but she was patient with my child and we were able to accomplish the day's goal!!! She also took time to listen to my concerns and was thorough in her explanations! Switching from a family dentist to peds dentist is one of the best decisions I have made for my children! Do walk...run to that practice for those baby's teeth!

I needed a maxillofacial surgeon to adjust hardware in my jaw from a 20+ year old surgery, and I was very pleased with my experience at The International Center with Dr. Hakim. Dr. Hakim’s office is modern, welcoming, and equipped with the latest technology. His staff are articulate, efficient and organized. Tipsy, the hypoallergenic office dog, is a stress-reducing perk.
At the initial visit, Dr. Hakim clearly and thoroughly discussed my options. I never felt rushed or talked down to. The surgery itself began promptly and went smoothly. After the surgery, Dr. Hakim personally followed up with me multiple times. He listened, helped me with pain management, and scheduled an additional post-op appointment to make sure my healing was progressing appropriately. At every step of the way, I felt like I was being listened to, my questions were thoughtfully answered, and my well-being was supported.
The office does not work with insurance but provides a detailed super-bill so you can file a claim. They also offered a military discount which we greatly appreciated.
I still have one more post-op appointment to go but I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Hakim and his office.

I highly recommend Dr. Hakim. I went to see him for an emergency extraction on short notice, and I was well taken care of and respected by Dr. Hakim and each member of his team. His office was clean, professional, modern, and I felt very comfortable there. The staff was beyond attentive. Overall, the work was quick, painless, and gentle. Could not have asked for a better experience!

If you have tried everything and nothing has helped your TMJ issues, look no further....
Dr. Hakim was my life line! I came to him at the end of 2024 with almost a decade of TMJ pain and a laundry list of failed treatments over the years. I was fed up, tired of spending time and money on "specialists" who knew less about TMJ than me. Dr. Hakim suggested a bilateral arthroscopy. It's been a year and a half since my surgery and I am FINALLY fully functional. I can eat anything I want and rarely have any pain. Dr. Hakim is someone who truly cares and gives you the evidence straight up. I am incredibly thankful for Dr. Hakim and his team for giving me my life back! Shoutout to Eric, Fatima, Dr. Hoffman, and Tipsy who are always kind and helpful!
