I cannot say enough great things about Halie — she is hands down the best dental hygienist in the office! From the moment I sat down in her chair, she made me feel comfortable and at ease. She’s incredibly thorough but also very gentle, which makes a huge difference during cleanings. Halie takes the time to explain everything she’s doing, offers helpful tips for better dental care, and you can tell she genuinely cares about her patients. On top of her skill and professionalism, she has such a positive, welcoming personality that makes every visit enjoyable. I actually look forward to my appointments now because I know I’ll be in great hands. If you’re looking for someone who goes above and beyond in both care and kindness, Halie is the one you want to see. She truly sets the standard for what a great hygienist should be!

This place rules. First of all, the vibe is so good—it feels like you’re hanging out at a bar, and they have drinks and stuff. Everyone’s incredibly caring and makes sure you feel zero discomfort or pain, and they’re super nice. I bring my 7 year old here too, and even he had an amazing experience. He had to get a root canal and felt no pain at all. The other dentist we saw was just going to pull the tooth, but the doctor here took the time to save it and made sure it was done the best way possible for a kid. That meant a lot. Also, they’re not trying to upsell you or push stuff you don’t need. The doctor is actually honest and just wants to help. The quality is great, and I always feel like I’m in good hands here.

I cannot say enough good things about The Proper 32, especially Halie — she is truly the BEST hygienist I’ve ever had! She’s incredibly gentle, thorough, and so knowledgeable. I always feel completely at ease in her chair, and I actually look forward to my cleanings now because of how kind and caring she is. Halie takes her time to explain everything, checks in often to make sure I’m comfortable, and goes above and beyond to make the whole experience positive. Her attention to detail and warm personality really stand out. You can tell she loves what she does, and it shows in the way she treats her patients. If you’re looking for someone who’s not only professional and skilled, but also makes you feel genuinely cared for — ask for Halie. She’s amazing!

The service at The Proper 32 is truly outstanding! Every part of my visit felt smooth, professional, and genuinely caring. The team is incredibly attentive and detail-oriented, from the dental care itself to the way they handle scheduling and insurance. Ruth at the front desk was especially helpful; she made the paperwork and insurance process feel effortless. It’s rare to find a dental office where both the care and the customer service are top-notch. Highly recommend!

My husband and I have been going to Dr McDonald for many years and have always had a great experience. When they built the Proper 32 in Oceanside, we saw a new side of his practice. The Proper 32 is more than amazing dentistry and caring for patients, it is about caring about the community and neighboring businesses. The staff is very welcoming and caring and you don’t sit in the waiting room forever because they rarely run behind, but if you did, you can sit outside in their beautiful patio. You really look forward to your dental appointment to see your friends and neighbors and maybe hear some great music. I am thrilled that we have this special place to make me smile and look great while doing it.
