Dr. Tomaich was exceptionally kind and attentive during my pre-extraction visit. I was experiencing a tooth infection with significant cheek swelling, and he thoroughly addressed all of my questions with clear expertise and professionalism. On the day of the extraction, Ashleigh assisted me and was incredibly kind, helping to keep me calm and comfortable before the procedure. The extraction itself was efficient and quick, which I greatly appreciated after being in pain for over a week.

After four different surgeries, I am enormously confident in Dr. Tomaich’s competence. He is an exceptional surgeon with a caring and amazing team. As someone who fears even regular dental visits, I feel comfortable knowing this team will take care of me and never let me suffer, every single time. There is nothing more important than exceptional care.

Another excellent visit to Dr Tomaich's office. This was for setting up a titanium post for a tooth implant -- the previous one being a tooth extraction. Easy and comfortable experience, from beginning to end and after. Very little post-operative pain. The staff gave a clear sense of what would happen over the next 5 days (numbness, stitches falling out, etc.), and things pretty much panned out exactly that way.

Dr. Tomaich was very skilled and efficient extracting my tooth. I felt only the pinch of the local anesthetic needle. The staff was amazing. Explaining every step of the process as it was happening and sending me home with everything I needed to recuperate at home.

Meet the Doctors
Dr. J. Alex Tomaich, MD, DDS, is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a licensed dentist, and a licensed physician. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from UCLA in 1996, then completed a seven year dual degree oral and maxillofacial surgery residency through the UC San Francisco School of Dentistry and the UC Davis School of Medicine, receiving his medical degree from UC Davis and completing his surgical residency at UCSF. His training included hospital rotations throughout Northern California and at Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Trust in London. Dr. Tomaich has practiced in Davis since opening his office in 2003. He serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor at UC Davis Medical Center, where he is part of the craniofacial surgery team treating children with conditions such as cleft lip and palate, and he is on staff at Sutter Medical Center and Woodland Healthcare. He is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, the American Medical Association, the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, and the California Dental Association, among other professional organizations.
