Dr. Couchot removed a couple of teeth for me and I still had pain several days later. I couldn’t get their office to call me back and the office manager at the time (6+ years ago) lied and said she was in the office on a Saturday and I didn’t come in like she said we agreed on. I never spoke to her to set a time. We kept missing each others calls. I had FINALLY fallen asleep after days of excruciating pain and exhaustion. Dr. Couchot and his assistant was very rude when I showed up at their office to get things looked at and resolved. Imagine your worst dental pain. That’s what I lived with for weeks. The problem was he had left part of the tooth/root in my gums. It wasn’t packed properly either. In addition, his bedside manner is awful. He’s in the wrong profession.. I’ll never recommend this office or dentist to anyone.

I can’t say enough great things about Dr. Couchot and his staff! They make you feel at ease, professional top notch from beginning to end. So highly recommended! I would not go anywhere else. I have been going there since 2022.

Question : does this oral surgeon ever do tooth removal (at the hospital) . I have health concerns , artificial heart valves, requiring antibiotics. Also I’m on blood thinners due to heart valves. I have to step down from Warfarin with alternative drug for blood. Reasons I believe should be done where all health services are ready available . Only place I would feel safe.

I had to go here for a tricky op my dentist recommended him. He was extremely fast and I was in no pain. I suffered no discomfort afterwards. He is bar none the best at what he does. We are luck to have such talent in this area.

Great staff. Got me in quickly, handled my insurance claim and co-pay was reasonable. Very good overall experience.

About Tri-state Oral & Facial Surgery
Tri-State Oral & Facial Surgery is an oral and maxillofacial surgery practice located at 2844 Carter Avenue in Ashland, Kentucky, serving patients across the Kentucky, Ohio, and West Virginia tri-state area. The practice is led by Dr. Michael D. Couchot, a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, and offers a full range of surgical procedures including dental implants, wisdom teeth removal, tooth extractions, bone grafting, jaw surgery, facial trauma care, oral pathology, and pre-prosthetic surgery. The office also lists 3D imaging, anesthesia, platelet rich plasma, and bone morphogenetic protein among its services, and the practice describes a comfortable, patient-centered environment.
For patients considering dental implants, the practice describes implants as small titanium posts placed into the jawbone to replace missing tooth roots and support natural-looking crowns, bridges, or dentures. The practice notes that implants fuse with the jawbone, which provides stability, helps prevent bone loss, and lets patients eat, speak, and smile with confidence. The office says it gladly accepts most insurance plans and offers flexible financing options, and it provides patients with instructions and forms in advance of their visit. Visits are by appointment only.
