Excellent service, comfortable and modern environment. Friendly and helpful staff. Dr. Herrera is very good at explaining any issues and what will be done. Follow up procedures are very good with staff checking in on you or any follow up questions you might have. The practice is very efficient and all encompassing. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Herrera to any family members or friends.

Dr. Tim Nordloff and staff members went above and beyond for my child’s dental plan. I prayed for the best and couldn’t be happier with the outcome of a successful procedure. From the very first visit I/we were put at ease when all of my questions, options and concerns were answered. Dr. Nordloff is very experienced, skilled, kind and knowledgeable. He was recommended by another healthcare professional and can’t imagine going with anyone else. Thank you!

Dr. Herrera truly cares about his patients and it shows in his quality of work. He always has a positive attitude and was very informative with the treatment plan. His staff was excellent keeping me in the loop and whoever called me during my follow up after the procedure was very knowledgeable and had great advice on how to better care for my son.

Wow!!! I can’t say enough positive things about Dr Herrera and his staff. I was referred to his office to have a tooth removed which I’d been agonizing over for years. Now I feel silly that I didn’t do this earlier. I went in for a consult that was very professional, and then went for my tooth removal. I opted for laughing gas instead of general anesthesia, so I was awake throughout the process. I was attached to monitors to track my oxygen, heart rate and blood pressure, given a blanket and made very comfortable. Dr Herrera kept me informed about his progress, and within minutes it was finished. I was tended to by his staff in the most professional way, and I came home to very little pain, and no swelling. Everyone in this office, including his front office, were top notch. I would wholeheartedly recommend Dr Herrera.

About True Bite Oral Surgery and Implant Center

True Bite Oral Surgery and Implant Center is an oral and maxillofacial surgery practice at 546 Abbott Street in Salinas, California, with additional offices in Freedom (Watsonville) and Santa Cruz. The practice's board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeons offer dental implant placement, All-on-4 full-arch teeth replacement (also called teeth in a day), zygomatic implants for patients with limited upper jaw bone, bone grafting, wisdom teeth extractions, corrective jaw surgery, treatment of TMJ (jaw joint) disorders, facial trauma care, and sleep apnea treatment. The practice says its facility was evaluated by the Joint Commission and received its Gold Seal of Approval, a recognized symbol of quality and safety.

For patients considering implants, the practice describes them as an option for replacing a single tooth or all teeth, using a titanium post that acts as an artificial root topped with a crown. The team uses digital imaging to guide implant placement, and an on-site dental lab technician digitally plans each case, prints 3D models, and creates surgical guides. The practice notes that its surgeons take on complex cases, including patients who have been told elsewhere that they do not qualify for implants, and that a smile can be restored in as few as three appointments. Its facility incorporates CT scans, 3D facial scanners, and intraoral cameras for diagnosis and treatment planning, and the practice emphasizes patient safety and comfort in a calming, modern environment.

Meet the Doctors

The practice's clinical team includes Dr. Andrés F. Herrera, DDS, and Dr. Timothy Nordloff, DMD, MD. Dr. Herrera earned his dental degree from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in 1994, completed a six-year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago in 2003, and then joined Loyola's staff as an assistant professor of surgery. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and of the American Association of Dental Anesthesiology, and the practice states he trained in advanced implant techniques with Dr. Paulo Malo, developer of the All-on-4 concept, and Dr. Carlos Aparicio, known for zygomatic implant placement. He also founded the Alegria Foundation in 2013, a nonprofit providing corrective surgery to children with cleft lip and palate. Dr. Nordloff, a Bay Area native, graduated cum laude from Boston University's dental school, practiced general dentistry for eight years, completed hospital-based oral surgery internships at the University of Connecticut and Baylor College of Dentistry, and finished a six-year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the University of Missouri, Kansas City, where he also earned his medical degree.
