My chart most definitely has giant red flags for anxiety when it comes to dental work but I have never felt so at ease until coming to this office! I鈥檝e needed a considerable amount of work done and everyone has been so wonderful! Front desk to the chair! Dr Haley and Kye (spelling 馃槵) are a great team! They are genuine and passionate about the work they do and care they provide! Making sure every detail is perfect for ME! I will truly cry if they ever leave!! I鈥檝e finally found a dental home I can be less nervous with!

Never disappointed. Love the front desk they call you by name and make you feel like family! The dental hygienist and Dr Eric are the best. For anyone that has children, you know how hard it is to get your kids to go to the dentist. Not here! My kids love to go and are mad when we have reschedule! 馃槅 馃ぃ 馃槀

This was my first visit! Everyone was welcoming and friendly! Dr. Hailey and Olivia (hygienist) were professional as well as warm and friendly. Communication was easy and clear.

Love this place! My hygienist was so gentle and talked me through everything, as well as gave me some great advice. Dr. Eric was awesome too, and I'm so happy to have him as my new dentist. The whole atmosphere of the office is so welcoming and warm.

I broke a tooth while on a trip. The remaining part was very sharp and painful. Called the office and Lynette gave me an appointment on the day after I arrived back in Rapid鈥擨mpressive!! Dr. Eric and his assistant repaired it in record time. Everyone I dealt with was wonderful! Unkenholz Dental is unquestionably a 5鈥揝TAR clinic!!!

Unkenholz Family Dental is a locally owned family dental clinic located in the heart of Rapid City, South Dakota, at 716 Quincy Street. The practice provides comprehensive and cosmetic dentistry for the whole family, from small children to adults and seniors, with individualized treatment plans and a focus on preventative care. Unkenholz Family Dental and Family Dental Care have joined forces to serve the Rapid City area and the Black Hills community at two convenient locations.
For patients considering dental implants, the office offers dental implant services including surgical placement, implant crowns, and implant supported dentures, along with extractions, custom dentures, root canals, crowns and bridges, and white fillings. Additional services include single visit CEREC crowns, three dimensional digital X-rays, in-house teeth whitening, porcelain veneers, composite bonding, and Invisalign clear aligners. To help patients stay comfortable, the practice offers nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, and the dentist and office are licensed for intravenous conscious sedation, used for wisdom teeth extractions.
Meet the Doctors
The practice's clinical team includes Dr. Eric Unkenholz, Doctor of Dental Surgery, who earned his dental degree with high honors from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 2008 and established Unkenholz Family Dental in 2014, and Dr. Haley, Doctor of Dental Surgery, a Rapid City native who graduated summa cum laude and at the top of her class from Creighton University School of Dentistry in 2025 and practices all areas of general dentistry.
